Great job making a game! This is a fun idea. Unfortunately you are breaking resolution rules with certain aspects like the sheep movement and the grain "line" so your game has been disqualified. This looks to be a case of not scaling the game properly and I am unsure of how to do it correctly in unity but we have some people in our Discord server that may be able to give you some advice if you're interested!

Thanks for the jam, it was a very rewarding experience.

Please tell me if there is a rating for disqualified games. I want to see if I have any chances in game dev, and I don't even have to try.

There are no available ratings for disqualified games but you always have a chance to be a game dev! just keep on practicing and making games!

Cool idea ;) I won and didn't spare a life of a single sheep!!! :-]

Developer

Hahaha, thank you.)))

The job is done and the sheep are saved. A nice game, modest but playable and complete, and above all it has a good sense of humour.

Awww, thank you so much it's really nice to read)))))

I kinda like the main conceit of this game - controlling the windmill is fun. My main quibbles have to do with completeness and sticking to the resolution requirements. You really need sound or music in a game like this. You're also rendering subpixels on the grain and sheep is not locked to the pixel grid. It's pretty hard to tell the difference between facing forward and backward - a few frames of animation between each direction would go a long way to making the control feel smooth. When sheep come from the top or bottom, you have almost no time to react.

You have a fun idea here and it would be worth expanding on.

Developer

And I was thinking why the sheep came out so well, compared to the mill - its turn is not pixelated(.

The first time I made a pixel game everything was unclear. I thought if  make the resolution 84x48 in Unity, it will work. learning...

Thank you for bringing these aspects to my attention.

I made it :) ! That was a close one - but I had enough hearts to survive.
The timing for some of the wind is very fast and a sheep zooms in !
Thankfully the wind from the left or right was easier to deal with :)

Developer

Thanks for the upbeat review. Wind speed and sheep speed will have to be adjusted

I really enjoyed playing this game! It took me few tries to win though, the wind kept pushing the sheeps too fast for me to react haha. I would've wished maybe smoother animation for the windmill turning, and I sometimes found it hard to see if the windmill was turned to me or away from me.
Great game! Tons of fun, and honestly I love the concept of trying to stop sheep from crashing into a windmill.

Thank you, very nice to read this. I think adding more frames to the mill will fix a lot of the flaws.

Cool game, really liked playing it, if you had more time what would you add more to the game?

Developer (1 edit)

Thank, you! it's a pleasure.
