Simple game, but the cleverly named upgrades being revealed once you could buy them, kept things interesting. It needed a sound effect for each click and some possible background music, but otherwise was a fun submission :)
Nice clicker game
Click click click :-)
Not much to do but click, but I wanted to know all options you could unlock and they were fun ideas to read ;-).
The game itself could have had more options and things to do of course. Or extra visual and sfx, but for a clicker game it was fine and solid.
Keep it going for your next project!
Simple, but very addictive. I love it when a random number infinitely climbs faster and faster. Would be nice if the canvas stayed in the center of the screen when full screening.
Thanks for you comment, regarding the canvas not adjusitng to window size changes, I'd like to re-upload a version which is fully responsive after the jam is over.
This game was funny! From the initial interpretation of the theme (breaking rubber band loop) to the descriptions for the upgrades, particularly the police one, there is a lot of humor and personality packed into the game. That being said, there are a lot of areas of improvement - namely the lack of music and sound effects, which I am a big advocate for and feel they make a game just so much more immersive. The graphics lacked personality and felt very standard, nothing wrong with them, they just didn't stand out. Also, the animations for clicking the rubber band ball and such could use a lot of polish.
Clicker games aren't really my niche, so I can't really find enjoyment in games like these, but I can understand how this could be addictive. Good work!
First time trying out a clicker and I can definitely understand how addictive they can be, I do wish there was more to the visuals or sound effects but overall a great time ! It was also a clever idea to literary break the loops
Well, there's not much wrong that can go with a clicker. I did appreciate that the gains were balanced in a way that did not overly drag out the game, and the humor definitely netted you bonus points. I still feel you could've done more with the theme though, particularly from a gameplay standpoint... sorry, but I can't give this more than 3 stars in innovation. And apart from that, I can't really give other feedback than to add more juice! Screenshake, sounds, particles, etc. to make popping the loops really satisfying. And maybe to change the type of loop you're popping based on the highest upgrade you have.
The first real clicker/idle game I’ve come across in this jam and became addictive! It fits the theme literally which makes it a perfect match. These types of games always pull me in, and despite their repetitive nature, they’re just so ADDICTIVE! I kept wanting to reach that next tier… so in a way, it also broke my loop of playing ‘just one more round’ (or did it?). Really nice work! With some SFX, music, and a bit of graphical refinement, it could be even better.
Nice clicker game, some sfx and background music would be great.
Simple clicker game but fun!
Very nice clicker game! I unlocked them all—definitely a game about breaking a loop.
Classical clicker game. But good implementation.
Ok, guys! You worked for it, you got it! Extra stars for Gameplay/Fun, because you game made me chuckle every time I unlocked a thing!
Normally I'm not a fan of those games, but because of the humor, this one worked for me.
Thanks!
We tried to keep it fun and silly because we knew it wasn't going to be a very in depth game.
We had to keep the scope small because were not using a game engine and I'm still new to React.
Very literal implementation of the theme. Some sound / music would have been nice. Great to see somebody not using a engine but react and typescript
Thanks, I like the quick load time not using a game engine provides.
We would have loved to have had audio like in our other jams, maybe next time.
