Daym. This is provoking my existential crisis lol. This is my favorite entry now. Well made, well deserved. I enjoyed the whole gameplay, it was a pleasant experience.

The design is simple and executed well. The music is perfectly matched with the game feel. I love those stars background parallax, it is what I want to have in my game. It is nice to learn some useful tricks from other games.

This is a masterpiece. Well done!

Thank you for playing and for the kind words!

The stars occupy three parallax layers with a motion ratio of .8, .6, and .4. the furthest layer also has a very subtle constant motion. Something like 1 pixel per second.

They are made of noise textures with an aggressive color gradient from transparent to desired color.

Technicality of the game is amazing!

Fantastic vibes and a great story overall! The map is just a huge help, so I'm super happy you have that. The music and sound effects are also a perfect fit for this game.

I love the artstyle and the music so so so much but i cannot for the last of me find the last memory. the gravity pull is super cool and its kinda relaxing floating in space somethings. really enjoyed it!!!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing! What I have found is that the "easy" memory is only easy if it's the first one you find. If missed it's an absolute pain to get back to. I'll need to address that in a post-jam build...

please do! id love to replay it. i also really enjoyed finding all the people in space and talking to them. maybe there could be a counter for that too? just a thought :D

That's a great suggestion!

Neat game!  Reminds me of "Outer Wilds".  This is one I may come back to and play more later!  (And a Mac build is always appreciated, though it seems to run fine in the browser!)

Developer

Thank you for the comparison to Outer Wilds! That's such high praise!

That’s a very creative way to do exploration. The art style is really cool, and the story is pretty compelling

Thanks!

A game with a beautiful aesthetic, both musically and visually (gorgeous graphics with a lot of personality).

As for the gameplay, it's clear that it’s a more relaxed game focused on the story rather than the gameplay. I really liked the idea of searching for planets to find the different clues of the story, although unfortunately, I haven’t been able to finish it since the cannon controls are a bit clunky, and the idea of launching blindly makes it difficult to find the last pages. Maybe adding an indicator on the map for the notes you've already found, marking the ones you’ve picked up, would help a bit.

Lastly, I should mention that while the gravity programming is excellent, the only issue I found is that the character often ended up upside down, and the fact that it had so much inertia meant it would almost always get stuck in a cannon, causing me to miss some notes along the way.

Great job, and I encourage you to keep working on it. If you polish those details, it will definitely be an amazing game ^^

I think auto-landing in a cannon is intentional — you just press Z to exit the cannon and walk around to see the notes on that planet!

Developer

JoeStrout is right - the cannons serve as an inertial safety net and can be exited with "z".

As far as clarity of controls or de-janking the cannons is concerned, I'm glad for any feedback.

Thanks for playing!

Really well done, this was super interesting to play! It reminds me a bit of Juice Galaxy in a way, but less crazy. The music is excellent, and the parallax and chromatic aberration is a great touch, it adds to the sense of depth excellently.

Developer

Thank you! I'm going to have to try Juice Galaxy

That was cool, the music fit so well and the art even though it's pixel art it looks so charming the parallax and other visual effects looks great!

Thanks for playing!

I liked the vibes and the story, very well made, the mechanic of being able to warp back to a planet that you launched from was a good addition, as I found myself missing my target planet a lot. The music really added a lot to the tone of the game as well :)
