Wow. Hilarious at first, then heartbreaking. Or.. wistful? Big props for emotional journey

Great title, first of all. I love that there were no explanations, just like real life. I thought it was very funny and would like to play a full version!
Skipped work ++ Happiness ;)
I liked the potion rotation effekt and the actual tree visuals. I enyojed the music and some of the sound effects.
If you want to improve your button UI significantly, take a look at this video, it helped me a lot in the beginning:
Congratulations that you finished your first game! That is an important step. Gamejams are very good for that.
nice game, the only thing is that the hapiness thing seemed trivial, like it only affected the text that apear at the end but not the game itself. thats by bit of feedback.
I really like the idea here - balancing the growth of the tree vs happiness/life. I agree with some of the comments about being able to skip animations after first viewing them or first playthrough. Great first entry!
I was unmotivated to eat or work in the game, because the animations were a long, and unskippable. Also, they felt like they were taking away from the point of the game (growing the tree at all costs?)
While also, the +- happiness seemed artificial, and as far as I could tell, didn’t really do anything.
Ultimately, I’m not quite sure I got the message :S
But it was definitely interesting nonetheless!
Cool idea. The "om nom nom" sound and the "Went to work: - Happiness" both got a laugh out of me. I did two playthroughs: "don't go to work" and "only go to work and grow tree." I got evicted in both, but at least I had a nice tree. Didn't really see where the Happiness stat came into play, though. I think I got fired in the "don't go to work" run, but the text flashed by too quickly for me to actually read. As the tree grows, it also covers up the text on the screen in the backyard.
Congrats on finishing your first GWJ!
Neat game idea! I liked the system of balancing out your choices day to day. I enjoyed the animations for choices and the tree growth day to day.
One note, as the tree gets too big, it starts to cover up UI elements during the growing decisions.
Great game, thanks for making it!
Cool game! I don't think I did a great job of balancing my life and growing the tree.. I grew a nice tree, but was evicted and fired from my job lol. Great job!
I kept picking things that made me lose happiness, at first! Very cool that you guys implemented animations for all the different choices. All the UI choices work, which is always nice to see. The SFX was funny, while the music was quite ambient. It got a bit repetitive to keep selecting things for each day after the 3rd day - I think it would be nice to see more intermittent reactions being implemented for this game! An evolving animation for the tree, perhaps? Thank you for making this game!
all glory to the tree.
actual feedback: though probably unintentional the guiding text in the background being overtaken as the tree grows was hilarious, but also meant I couldn't see what I was putting into my growth potions. Overall pretty neat, and lots of stuff that could be great with some more polish. Loved the flavor of as you're neglecting life more and more personal stuff shows up in the yard )
Balancing happiness and tree growth is quite a task! Like the concept and it could make a great idle mobile game
Congrats on finishing your first game! Good job!
I like the idea you've got going for this game! (that you have to juggle between daily chores and growing a tree / a hobby)
With more content and polish I think this would have been more fun, but for your first game this is nice! I got both endings and it felt pretty intuitive on how to get there, which is good imo.
Well done on the first GWJ Jam! I got evicted. Some good systems implemented and I didn't experience any issues.
This is a really cool idea. The fact that you don’t see an immediate choice of action is intriguing. The fact that you need to take time from something else to grow your tree is very philosophical. I wish there was at least some measure of progress; otherwise, I feel myself wandering around in complete darkness.
Cool concept. I also made a UI game with multiple endings. I played it twice and got evicted both times. It'd be nice if you could click to skip animations. (like eating). Made the second playthrough feel a bit slow.
I neglected myself and got evicted, but at least the tree must be happy lol nice concept
Nice and simple concept done well. Wish the game had some sort of happiness bar to see how I'm doing, but then again we don't get a happiness bar in real life so I suppose it's realistic.
