Sounds Wonderful! I’m not really a music expert so I cannot really comment on the music theory side. All I can really say is that it sounds very classical.

I can say however that the piano composition is really nice and very relaxing. I also love the thunder SFX that appear on the start of some bars.

Thanks a lot for still taking the time to listen to my music, even when the jam is already over. I appreciate it :)
A friend of mine referred to it as classical too, so you're definitely not wrong there! I'm glad you find the composition nice and relaxing; that was the vibe I was going for (at least the first half) :D

Thanks again!

0:27 chord (and the few after in the sorta circle of fifths) is definitely my favourite part of the main theme. I think it's interesting to have a more peaceful portrayal of a thunderstorm -- that of soothing rain, and the thunder -- rather than being loud and chaotic and oppressive, be more playful..

Developer

Thank you :D! Thats my favorite part as well, that progression is just so sweet. Most of the time when I hear thunder I am inside, chilling out, so I'm glad you find my peaceful portrayal interesting :)

Really nice relaxing piano track with lots of interesting chords, cool composition!

Thank you! I loved to try out some cool seventh chords for the first time, and I included some deceptive cadences and secondary dominants for fun as well. Glad you like it :D

The timing of the thunderstrikes is really quite nice. And you managed to make it sound just harsh enough without overpowering the sweetness of the piano part. I like the sort of play between the extended chords and the more chromatic mario bros. style melodies. I have the feeling that I'm watching the rainstorm safe behind the window rather than getting drenched in the street

Thanks a lot! "Watching the rainstorm safe behind the window" was exactly the vibe I was going for, so I am happy it worked out! Glad you liked the balance between the two pieces :D

This is a very nice and relaxing piano piece. I like how you implemented the thunderstrikes as a percussive instrument too! I was reading your notes on your project page and I was surprised to read that it's your first time using seventh chords! Once you start using them, there's no going back; They are oddly addicting to use in my opinion haha! I think this is wonderfully composed, well done

One more thing but when I saw the screenshots, I originally came in thinking there would be 5 tracks but I realized they were past jam submissions, I may need to take that idea from you haha!

Wow, thank you! 'Wonderfully composed' is a great compliment, and I'm very grateful for it :)

And indeed, this is my first time using seventh chords. I used to think that they didn't have a purpose other than to make a song sound more "dissonant and ugly". I do not agree with my old self anymore: I think it depends a lot on the type of seventh chords, how they are voiced, and how harsh the instrument playing it is! In the past month I've read a ton about the different types of seventh chords and I am just starting to find out how to use them all :D
