Name's Andrey, and I am writing on behalf of a small indie studio that doesn't even have a name yet.
The game we're working on is unpaid and will be released as a free game on itch.io as it is planned now in mid-May 2025.
For those participating it will be a finished released piece of work that they can later on use in the portfolio and all those working on the game in any capacity will be in the credits.
I have been working in gamedev since 2017 (QA->project management, production and release management) and have come to the conclusion, that I don't want to stay in the corporate part of it. My focus is planning and ensuring the process goes smoothly, and we don't encounter unforeseen roadblocks along development.
In our narrative-driven blacksmith simulator (non-NSFW), players take on the role of a young female blacksmith managing a forge in a cozy fantasy village. Players must balance resources wisely, navigate social dynamics (as some villagers doubt a female blacksmith), and make enough progress to secure their place in the village. The game is short, replayable, and is estimated to last 15-20 minutes per session, leading to different outcomes.
The estimated amount of text in symbols is very roughly 40000, and the base language will be English.
We plan to have several languages supported in localization and to add the ones that will be finished later with several updates once the project is released.
Currently there are preliminary agreements for Spanish, Portuguese and Japanese languages and I am looking for people who can do English-> German, English->Italian and English->French language pairs, different people, obviously :
There is already a localization system in place, it is set up in an XSLX file stored in the cloud. As the game doesn't involve complext terminology, it's not planned to use CAT tools and we're not considering AI translations as well.
