This is a chiptune-inspired funk rock track. I imagined the game being a beat-em-up where you're a guy stuck in a tank who uses the tank to beat up stuff like crazy and stuff. Um, like BOOM! BOOM! POW! (3 hit combo) Set in the near dystopian future (2025) and um uhhhh the AI overlords have taken over and are actually pretty uh pretty good at uh I don't know. You beat them up in a tank. Also, your tank is like, welded shut. You can't get out, and also the tank is faulty. It can't shoot. You beat stuff up with the barrel, like, whacking things. (3 hit combo) Also, this song represents the profound moment where Tankman (the man in the tank) gets out of the tank and is liberated and the first thing he yells is "Freedom!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Oh yeah, um, I used uh, FL Studio, whatever the latest version is. (I'm using an outdated version of FL Studio. I have not updated in months because I have to log in every time I update and that's annoying!) I finished composing this song using my gargantuan brain at 5 AM, 3 hours before the deadline because I uhhh egughhghhhbb llblb lblb ll
Message from the artist
This is my first song please be nice. :))))) Haha, it's not my first song, haha, just kidding!! You could, like, be not nice and stuff or whatever you want. I don't really care, uh, (I care very deeply, in fact. If you say something mean and stuff, I would, well, I don't know. I think I would think that you are like a troll or something but that's like funny and stuff because it's like rage bait and whatever. Um, but if its real then that's kinda like. Uh. Thanks for the useful feedback. I take criticism very well... 🙂
Theme

How does it fit the theme?
You see, the Tankman (man in the tank as mentioned in my description of my fictional game) is being freed from his captivity (the tank) the moment this song is played. So, like, it's super, um, obvious that it's related to freedom. Like, you literally can't deny that. Like, come on.

The drums in this track rock. I can definitely imagine somehow slowly turning the barrel of a tank back and forth repeatedly to smack enemies in the face. Okay, I'm gonna be honest, I'm having a tiny bit of trouble imagining the logistics of it, but I'll take your word that it gets the job done. If all else fails, I guess you can just run over shit. 🤷
I'm glad Tankman made it out of the tank, but let's be honest: did he really want to leave the tank? Maybe he was just hungry. Grab some Doritos and Mt. Dew and get back in there bro, there are plenty more bad(or good? I guess we didn't specify Tank man's alignment) guys to thwack.
Cool track, nice melody, banger vibe, loved the description. Looking forward to Tankman 2: Tankman Harder in the next ham!
the logistics of it works if the tank is cartoonishly fast

Man I have a lot to learn from the way you set up your drums, so good!
Cool!
Bro... I don't even know how to describe it... It's, it's, it's great! The rhythm, the medley, the groove... yum!
:>
P.S. Rawr ^_^
what really stands out to me from this track is the way the drums really complement the rhythmic motions of the other instruments throughout — it's not a stable four-on-the-floor or adjacent steady rhythm... awesome job!
i LOVE the more retro vibes as someone who grew up with Super Nintendo games in particular. >:3 i'd love to hear other potential tracks that you'd envision for your videogame concept!!
Great patches in this - solid choice of soundbank for these voicings. Some really nice use of articulation in this to push each channel to the limit. My favorite element of the bunch is the guitar that has some delicious bends and cheeky modulations. Structurally this is really strong and has some genuinely catchy melodies - found myself coming back for a listen again because I had that lead saw melody stuck in my head.
Very upbeat piece that plays to the strengths of the chosen voicings, with some really nice use of rests to add some punch and add groove. The bass in this is undeniably funky and hard not to move along to. Great work - this is super good and fun to listen to. Feels quite unique, too. Best of luck!
i LOVE how much you packed into this song despite it being so limited, like using mostly soundfonts i believe in the song, great submission!!!!
That was super hip, great rhythmic vitality, great melody, excellent use of silence, bravo!
I'm totally having some memories from Metal Slug at the arcade ahah, I imagine those 3 hits combo with the tank canon ahah, pretty cool ! Funky, groovy, dancy, it works well, good job !
yoooo this was bumping as helll!!! for 3 hours of work this is insanely impressive, well done!
very funky vibes in this one, good stuff!
I like your words, they speak to my heart. It is hard for my heart to hear your words over peak though.
lol the way you type is really great, this song was a pretty freakin awesome vibe dude!
appears once a year for the ost jam
casually drops the best song you've ever heard (it was made in less than 3 hours)
refuses to elaborate further
leaves
thanks poard for another banger track for us mortals to listen to
I think this fits the thing totally 100% I understand :)
HOLY OMEGA BOP!
this is a freaking banger! I have no notes.
Incredible!
I liked the FM guitar and the tone of the track, it sounds a lot like something you'd hear in a quirky indie game.
The screenshot gives me chills.
this soundtrack is awesome11!! i really like the way the bass sounds in the song, and especially when it's paired with the lead, just heaven for the ears!!1!
i REALLY like the work, i would like to hear something else in the same style!
