Theme incorporation
There is a survival element of a "sinking ship" (a starship adrift in space in which you run out of oxygen and must replenish your life support) and of course there are (robot) chickens.

Some nice ideas for the gameplay, the area art looked good too. Found combat too basic but the rest of the game was quite good.
The Voice was an interesting addition to the game that worked well for it , it added to the feel of the game. The heal stations was good too.
Game was good overall so nice work on it.
It's unfortunate that I experienced the turning bug and seemingly can't get past it. I restarted and reloaded a few times to try and get into a playable state but could not. I even read your comment below where you said arrows worked. I'm certain I checked that while recording but went back and double checked and had the same problem.
I've been enjoying the RPG maker entries but could not progress beyond the first room. I hope to try it out with a post-jam fix! Here's my recording
I was enjoying it quite a bit, but I suspect I'm hard-locked from not being able to collect the Skeleton's item. I think I've checked everywhere else, and can't find Green Level access.
It was a lot of fun finding my way about while it lasted, finding locked off areas and finding the right keys. Only criticism is that Life Support should be auto pinged when you access the wall device, rather than selecting it, being thrown out, then having to access again to save.
Great work overall!
Looks promising, but I am unable to turn at all.
I can't turn around, whether using A/D or arrow keys. Because of that I can't get the air vent to open. Other than that based on what I've seen this is a solid game. I'll revisit it after the jam ends.

I absolutely loved the hidden door at the end, I got stuck quite some time in the last floor and it was super satisfying to eventually find it, it's appropriately hinted by being placed in a big room with nothing else. The only bad part of it is that with the various bugging skeleton, plus the last control panel is the same than the previous one I think? At least the commands are so I was wondering if it might be bugged, I was wondering if the game could be completed in the current state and almost gave up. I'm very happy I did not though as that it was actually an hidden door was great, and I then assume the last hidden grates are also intentional which is great as well.
I really enjoyed the game. The settings is rendered well enough by the art, bestiary and log entries. The game structure is good with a dungeon and floors which are big yet never get too big especially in the context, I liked all the hinted next places before you find the next key, it was fun to explore and get the right key items to come back to go further. Balance is good, you can be suprised when getting confused, and the best part was in the second to last floor where I started to encounter 3 x dogs or 3 x robots I couldn't beat without relying to bombs, it did make bombs all the more relevant, there's no need to grind, only use your money to buy bombs, which are not that expensive. The layouts of the different floors are different and logical.
Aside from the crashing bugs, I wish mashing the buttons also sped up the feedbacks during fights, there's no reason why combat couldn't be played as fast as you want to.
Cool one!
I liked the interesting use of text-to-speech for the system messages and the method of restoring health. I think some additional context at the start of the game might be warranted to give players a reason to keep playing.
Very interesting game! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the games from the Dungeon Crawler Jam.
Using RPG maker is a good idea for prototype gameplay, but as you see it happens to be a bugs. It happened with RPG in a Box too. I couldn't progress to North wind could find a door with no visuals caused by rotation bug. If bug will be fix I think it would be a nice entry.
I had the same bugs as the ones before. Initial unable to turn issue, and later on locked in position unable to move. However the game autosaves, so the progress you lose are not a lot. I also encountered a fatal error when scavenging skeletons a few times. Image below. This I couldn't get out of and had to restart the entire game.

I struggled in a few places to figure out what to do and run around without any progression for a while. I even had to map out one floor.
I did manage to get to the C floor eventually and there is some bugs there. Especially vent exits that aren't visible, at least the exits to NE and SW. I managed to get the 5th access card but haven't found any place to use it. Maybe I'm just unable to get to places cause of missing vents etc. Unless I get some help here I call it a day.
I have put in more than 2.5h by now. The scope is a bit to large for a jam game. Maybe something to consider narrowing down for any future jams.
The combat gets a bit tedious, and it would benefit from being more snappy. There are a bit to much items in the game that does nothing. Maybe keep those to a minimum.
Having a map would be nice. I could even consider paying for one in-game at the terminals if possible.
Anyway nice entry, even though I rarely like the FF combat style.
I got the same bug Lutz had. At some point I just couldn't move, only turn. Found 2 (3 if we count first one as egg) golden eggs before it happened. Was searching for a password for a medbay lvl1.
But for what its worth - when I launched the game I had another bug with movement. I 'could' turn and walk, since at the bottom it was writing how I was changing directions... And I could interact with objects that clearly was not where I stand, yet camera didn't move an inch. No turning, no moving... quite an odd bug and it didn't appear when I restarted the game.
I aslso had to unplug my gamepad, since it was giving odd drag. Camera would start moving ever so slightly left or right and even diagonally.. sometimes it would force turn me as well. Felt like drunk person moving and for a while I thought it was intended too!
There is a huge difference between what we see and what we fight - I think it would be better to keep pixel-art enemies from the world as enemies we fight in the battle as well. It just looks like a huge difference between how it looks while we walk and how it looks while we fight.
I was reading logs. Second one was funny too... but bug prevented me from exploring further, sadly.
Wow! I played this for about 30 minutes until I got stuck and could not move anymore only turn around. It was right after a fight in Section M while I was level 5 at the time. Not sure if that is helping finding the bug.
This is your first jam? This is very good and I would like to play more when the bug is fixed.
The German accent for the voice overs are kind of funny too (intentional?).
Definitely exceeds my expectations for a 9 day dungeon crawler.
Well done!
Thank you for the kind words and encouragement! It means a lot to me.
I will work on fixing these bugs and will upload the fix when the jam period ends.
Sounds great! I added the game to my post-jam-replay collection.
Looking forward to it!
I'm not sure what is wrong, but I can't seem to turn. The Facing Direction changes but no matter what it is, the camera doesn't change. I still go only 'forward' as the initial direction is when starting the game, so that means I can't really navigate. I did stumble into a chicken, so there's that!
Hello! It was a silly oversight on my end, I think.
I play-tested using the arrow keys for the most part and I *think* they should work properly.
I can't upload a fix yet because it's a jam game. This has been a steep learning experience for sure!
Hey, I can't download the game. It says "This game is currently unavailable"
Sorry about that, I'm not sure what I did wrong. It says I can't change the files now that voting is in progress.
Damn it all, that's another learning experience!
EDIT: Found the problem, it should be fixed now!
