I'm doing my comment rounds after the polling closed due to time restraints earlier, but I just wanted you to know that this was one of my favorite games of the jam. Lovely art style and vibe. I really loved the kraken battle and thought just in general everything fit well together. It really had it's own thing going and the game felt alive to me. Awesome job!
Hey, nice sinking ship implementation!
I loved that it felt so responsive, it felt exactly like it should in terms of movement in this genre.
I wasn’t able to follow the story or different dialogue options as I was basically rushing through the ship, which is cool I think! It felt basically like I tried to shove everyone away while I was escaping the ship, which is great!
And nice ending, thanks for the game!
Here’s my quick play-through:
I think this game was really neat. The fighting was relatively simple, but the tension from the water made it very interesting. The levels were quite simple too, but again, the water and the setting made it make quite a lot of sense that it was like that.
I would perhaps have wanted at least the first level to have much slower water, at least in the beginning to give the player time to acquaint themselves and look at the surroundings without just thinking “is that the exit, where’s the exit” If the game actually tracks what the water level is when you climb each stairs and remembers it for the next, then there could be a special rule that just fast forwards the time so the game doesn’t become all to easy for those who just beeline to the ladder on the first level.
I think the difficulty worked out perfectly for me. A bit stressed there on the last blocking enemy before reaching the deck. The switch up with the boss fight was also really neat.
Yeah, I think I liked the game a lot.

Hey! Thank you so much for the video! Feedback gold! I agree that starting the water after exiting the first floor (Maybe a giant CRASH cutscene or something lol) and the boss level is always stressful haha, thanks for playing!
Pretty fun! I like the style and mood. First playthrough was very hard, exploring everything, died after killing the beastie, couldn't find the gold key it mentioned (presumably hidden by the water on the deck) so died :(. Second playthrough went super quickly and I had plenty of time and took what I have to assume was the "peaceful" ending (actually didn't kill anyone the whole way, which was fun). Was the water height cumulative based on the timer, or did it reset after each floor? I feel like I barely saw it after the first floor on my second playthrough and it would have been better with a little more tension (though, maybe I was just going rather fast).
Thanks so much for the feedback! Really glad you enjoyed the no-violence route (Besides the evil captain cat of course lol). The whole map is on one floor in the game, the water simply teleports down by the height of the walls :D Thanks for playing!
Tension (and water) is rising!
Hey! Thanks for checking out my game! Big fan of ur vids :D
Thanks Dude - I'll try and get gud before I attempt your game on a vid ;)
It was a fun game, I enjoyed playing it and the style of art was nice. I like the rising water too, which added to the tension of the game.
Did not manage to find any gold but still got to the end and won with kraken saving the chicken. Good work on the game it was good one to play.
Hey! Thanks for the feedback! Yeah the gold for whatever reason is invisible haha, something I plan to fix once the jam is over : D
Nice!
I also made a system of water flooding in my submission. This is the first game I've tested that has implemented a similar idea.
I replayed the game a few times to see the different possible branching dialogues paths and endings.
One option I didn't manage to do was getting 100 gold coins to pay the ransom. I tried, but the water made it difficult to see the coins on the ground.
I just noticed something. In the screenshots from the game page and in your speedrun video, we can see bags of gold lying around.
But in the web build I have access to, they're invisible!
So it's not the water that hides the gold after all.
Excellent sleuthing! For whatever reason the gold bags are invisible in the web version haha, something I plan on fixing once the jam is over! Thanks for the feedback :D
That was a lot of fun. Excellent execution of the Sinking Ship theme. It made a great setting for a dungeon, especially during the boss battle when you had to fire the canons. Felt very tactile. Kinda wish I hadn't played it on difficulty 3 though, since I did blitz through the dialogue a bit quickly.
Arr, matey, 'tis a right rib-ticklin' and jolly game, says I!
The pirate life be grand in this 'ere tale, though the sword-clashin' could use a bit more meat on its bones.
What be finer than blastin' a cannonball at a cursed kraken, eh?
Yo-ho-ho!
Hahahaha, awesome reply, I do tend to avoid combat so it makes sense, great wordplay!
OMG. I loved this! This is the first game I've played this jam that had a sinking ship with a rising water level, I figured there would be tons and the premise is great. I love how the enemies asked you questions and you could be a smarts and then end up in combat or tell them what they want to hear and continue. Then cannons! Then a kraken fight! So good! It crashes for me right after defeating the Kraken when I get the key. I'll give it another try and see if I can get past that, maybe it was bad luck.
Sound effects made me laugh, art was really charming, scope was small and perfect. Really well done!
Thank you so much for the feedback! I’m glad you liked it enough to give it a couple tries! : D
I managed to do it finally. I went too fast in the dialogues so missed that the kraaken was defeated and I needed to go on.
The graphics are great and the game is fun, but the timer is a bit daunting. Hard to mix panic mode with dialogs and exploring.
Thanks so much for the feedback! I made the two easier difficulties pause the water during dialogue for players wanting an easier time : ) Glad you liked it!
I really liked this!
The overall concept of the sinking ship was very well executed, and the artstyle is great, the music is good, and I dig the sense of humour. Oh and the ending sequence is fun, reminds me of the pirate level from Sly 3.
The only kinda quibble I have is barrels taking maybe a half second longer than they feel like they should to be destroyed. But that's such a minor point that I'm really just looking for ANY possible area the game can be improved.
Overall the game gives Monkey Island vibes which is awesome, I think we need more pirate dungeon crawlers!
Great work!
Thank you so much for your feedback!! Monkey Island is a big inspiration : D
I had an incredible time with this entry! The writing had me cracking up and the game play was solid! I think one of the greatest compliments a jam game can receive is “I want more!” So… I want more!

Thank you so much for your feedback, I really appreciate it!
I like the theming of this one! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the games from the Dungeon Crawler Jam.
Hey! Thank you so much for your video!
Nice game! I drowned a lot, but luckily joined Captain Coders stream to watch his play-through. I love the graphics, the humor and music. Good job!
Hey! Thanks so much for the feedback! Glad you liked our game!
I enjoyed the first person real time style, and also quite liked the concept of having a boss moving around the scenario and having to chase it. It´s also good to have multiple options to choose during the "race" through the boat.
Nice music and quite original game!
Just felt a little buggy when moving around, maybe because being a browser based game.
Thank you so much for the feedback!
This was a lot of fun. I like the incorporation of the sinking ship mechanic to give a sense of urgency getting through it all. I did switch to the easiest setting after some attempts to explore a bit and get enough money for another ending. If I'm playing more than once it must be pretty fun and it is! Graphics are good, the kraken boss was pretty cool and having multiple options (violence vs no violence) made me want to keep playing. The movement is spot on and I might give it a go again on the hardest mode to see if I can get through it!
Playthrough here, starting at 12:51
Thank you so much for the feedback! That video is dev GOLD my friend :D
Got the chicken lets gooo! Awesome game, the kraken fight was epic! The rising water levels gives me anxiety in a good way. Talking your way out is definitely the way to get a speedy clear for me, and the dialogue is funny to boot!
Thank you so much for your feedback, glad you loved the multiple options!
Nice job! Most of the assets are really lovely! The main menu and cover image don’t communicate how nice to look at this game actually is!
I appreciated the difficulty options, I got to speed through the whole game on easy in 10mins I had to spare!
Hey! Thanks so much for the feedback, I definitely had a hard time making the cover image haha
Nice job! Game was smooth and the dialog was funny and seeing the water rise was a feature I really liked.
Thanks so much for the feedback!
