Thanks for taking the time to check it out. Unfortunately, the engine I am using doesn’t have the ability to add in a translucent layer on top. The game is completely rendered with ASCII / ANSI graphics. It also requires full keyboard support to play.

Sorry for the inconvenience!

Wow! What a polished entry. I had so much fun playing this one.

My only real complaint is the white text on the flesh tone surfaces were very difficult for me to read.

Great work!

10/10 would pet again!

Cute simple game. I loved it.

Why did the farmer chuck the chicken across the road?

To become a billionaire.

I’m clearly in the wrong business.

Holy creepy cave batman! The atmosphere is great and incredibly creepy. Nice work with that.

I always appreciate having a volume slider that is not set to 100% by default, so thank you for that.

Super picky but a way to rebind the controls would be super helpful / the default control setup required arrow keys + keyboard keys + mouse to click which was a bit awkward for me.

Thanks for sharing your game.

With the exception of the bullet getting lost, I really loved this game. With a little more polish and mechanics, I think this would make a really interesting stealth puzzle horror game.

Nice work!

Goodness… I wish I was good at this game. Sorry I was so disappointing to watch attempt playing this game.

Thank you for creating it. If you ever make a version that is a little easier, let me know. I’d be happy to play test it again :)

There is a lot going on in this game and it controls well. However, it doesn’t do much to help the player understand how to play it / what is going on. I think you’re off to a great start making games. You should start looking into how to design games and what games do that make them approachable. I think the biggest thing this game is missing is affordances.

In game development, an affordance is a design feature that clearly signals to the player what actions are possible with a game element, making interactions intuitive without explicit instructions.

To play your game, the player has to spend a lot of time reading to figure out how to play and what is going on.

Additionally, you have a ton of content and levels but nothing in them makes me want to stick around. I am just running aimlessly to the right shooting things with tons of text on the screen that I don’t have time to read. Sometimes the lights go off and I don’t know why. I did make it to level 10 before I stopped.

Lots of ambition here which I love. Next, I would focus on learning what makes a game great for your players.

Such a good interpretation of the theme! Great job with this entry. 10/10 loved everything about it.

My goodness those cars are unforgiving! Can’ you see I’M WALKIN’ HERE!

Anyway, I am embarrased by the number of chicks that starved to death. I think I’d make a terrible father.

Thanks for making the game! Solid Frogger clone with very intuitive controls.

Great work on your first game! I look forward to seeing what you make next :D

Wow! I loved everything about this game, especially the art and 2.5D aspect.

Very creative and fun. Thanks for making it.

Goodness, those ghosts are persistent! I played it three times, getting a little better each time. My high score was only 35. I wish the enemies didn’t take so many shots (or maybe I have terrible aim).

A solid Bullet Hell entry.

Thanks for making it.

All I’ve ever wanted was to be a hungry little blob eating worms and this game gave me all that and more!

Great use of the theme!

Thanks for making it!

Woah! Really fun card game.

Lots of polish here. I’m a little embarrased how long it took me to figure out how to play but, once I did, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Thanks so much for sharing it.

Ha! To be the ball is to know Pong.

Thanks for making this!

My goodness… what a game! Thanks for making it :)

LOVED the Beetlejuice inspired creatures / other world!

You actually got me with a jump scare which… I suppose isn’t that impressive because I’m pretty jumpy, but, great job!

Thanks for sharing on my stream!

Infinite sided paper! Brilliant game. 10/10 would flip to the other side again.

I’m not crying! You’re crying!

I loved this game. Thank you so much for making and sharing it. Sorry if it was frustrating to watch me try and figure out the first thing to throw away :P

A great start to a card based auto-battler. Very creative and the game play wasn’t bad.

The main thing to improve in the game is the UI. The text is very challenging to read but, it did explain how the game worked and I was able to get through the tutorial.

Great job making something and submitting it to the jam! Looking forward to your next entry :)

Horrifying! I suck at these types of games and wanted to finish it so bad! Apologies that I couldn’t get through it without the creepy … uh… guy? Saying hi to me :P

Thanks for making this game and sharing it on the stream!

Really solid game entry! Thank you so much for playing it. Controls were easy and straight forward. Nothing frustrating at all. The only thing I would ask for is MORE! Thanks for making this game and coming by the stream :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to play and write a response! I’m glad you enjoyed it.

Thanks for playing. We are glad you enjoyed it.

Sorry about that! It is meant as a joke / reference to early Shareware games that would end with a screen stating you needed to purchase the full version (also, we ran out of time – this game was made in 9 days).

Thanks again for playing :)

I embarked. I went north. I fought a Goblin. I went more north. I fought a Chaos Warrior. I died. It was green. It was glorious.

Found a rope. Tried to hang from rope…

Ha! Thank you so much for playing. I’m glad you enjoyed it. Next year I want to make a full-blown BBS entry. XD

Thanks for playing and leaving a comment! I really appreciate it.

Sorry the Valkyrie was too tough. I agree Wall Jump needs some work.

If you ever decide to come back to finish, there is a pacifist way to “defeat” the Valkyrie so you can see the end of the game. Happy to share the hint if you’re interested.

Such a cute and fun game! I found the puzzle combat game a bit confusing initially but after a few matches, it really started to come together (if not a bit too easy). A difficulty setting would have been nice to force me to think a bit harder BUT easy is always good for a jam game.

Thanks for submitting!

Awesome!

I hope you add a high score!

Then we can see who can flip coins the best against rats!

Stats are FUN!

I interacted with a Crate…

I found a dagger!

I disengaged with Features.

I turned left.

I turned left again!

I turned around.

I turned left three more times! Because three lefts make a right.

I found Gorachan’s Justatip Inn!

I disengaged Features! … again…

Gorachan says, “Henlo!”

I found a Rat… rat almost killed me.

I found a Rat tail…

Gorachan would not take tail…

I tried dropping tail… Gorachan not take tail…

Maybe Gorachan want something else…

Move Climb Down…

Fight Rat…

Yer dead!

:(

Ah, this is a good one. I suspect it will always happen if you try to flee in the petting zoo. The game tries to find a random path for you to run in and then animates the running in the world BUT when you are in the Petting Zoo you are not on any map. I suspect there is a null pointer when this occurs.

Thanks for sharing!

I absolutely adored the art in this game! It felt a little bit like a tower defense game which I really enjoyed. I’m looking forward to coming back to this one.

Thank you so much for submitting this to the jam!

TWIST! I became a dragon! I loved it. Great voice acting work!

Superb entry! A few tweaks to the audio balance / subtitles would be helpful for me but, it didn’t detract much from the experience.

Sorry I couldn’t help but go to the right! :P

Thanks for making this entry!

An absolute unit of a submission! I am sad that I died on the final boss but I hope to come back and play again.

Great work with this one. A little more onboarding would be helpful but I was able to figure it out!

You can watch my full playthrough here: https://youtu.be/luBq8jB4AT4

A solid little entry! My only real complaint is that the map is so dang big and the combat is too repetitive.

You can watch my playthrough here: https://youtu.be/GK-_ZB9KDBQ

Thanks so much for submitting your game!

10 / 10 would play again!

This game is absolutely perfect (minus some of the bugs). Please, please, please, make a full game… then DM me with the steam page so I can buy it.

Thank you so much for submitting this game!
