Pretty cool premise, might be interesting if there was an endless mode. You seem to leave your shoes behind if you complete a level while standing in cyan ink though.

hahaha I noticed that bug at the last second and didn’t fix it. I hoped people might think it was intentional :p

That was immensely fun, I really enjoyed the different ink effects and the matching sound effects :DD Very good use of the limitation imo, I hope you do well. The only thing I would comment on is that maybe the dash button should be left Shift as it's what most gamers are used to... or maybe just me...

Ah that’s actually really good to know, I almost never play games on my keyboard!

I love this. The concept of each bullet type having its own mechanic is really well designed. Though, I find I didn’t use the green ink as much. And it was difficult to nail the yellow ink strat, but once I did, it worked wonders. It would be even crazier if you expanded upon this and were able to mix ink together. Cyan and magenta make a slow poison pool, or yellow and purple makes an explosion when dashing into it.

Overall, I had a blast playing this.

Developer

Oo I like that idea!

This was really fun! I really enjoyed this game, I just wish it was longer lol. I really enjoyed using the cyan laserbeam, since if you just kept holding LMB while running forward you'd go sliding really fast lmao. The only bug I ran into was that eventually the music stopped looping for some reason, but other than that, I really loved this! Great work and excited to see more!

Developer

I’m glad you figured that out about sliding continuously on cyan! I wasn’t sure if people would discover it.

And yeah I need to fix that music bug :p

Loved the usage of the limitation in your game, it was really smart!
I didn't get to use the magenta ink, I might have missed something because I didn't know where to press to use it. Chaining the yellow ink for an additional effect was cool but setting up that chain reaction is a bit hard.
Overall your game is really fun and enjoyable but it also felt easy. I only used the cyan ink to get through the stages. If I painted a large enough area it would make it easy to kill the enemies before they reached me.
Great job and keep it up!

Thanks GrumpyPopo! That’s useful feedback. Most of my previous jam games have been too hard, so I might’ve overcorrected for this one.

Really fun game! I like how each ink gives a different effect to the player and how they need can switch to counter specific scenarios! Really enjoyed my time with this.

Amazing game and looking forward to more!

Developer

Thanks for playing! It was fun to make.

THIS WAS SO COOL! I LOVED USING YELLOW INK SO MUCH!

Developer

Thanks Raya!

Fantastic entry! I love that the mechanics are introduced in each level to really get the player comfortable with controls. I had a great time playing this one.

Great game! Nothing to complain about. Enjoyed it a lot

I love the concept!! the way you incorporate the color as mechanics. The dashing ability is so cool man!!! Good job

I really enjoy it! I think the cyan is kinda the best to use and the yellow is the worst (despite his high damage)

But overall super fun!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I think you’re right. In a future version I’d want to make the yellow more powerful because I think the electric reaction mechanic could be fun, but isn’t really worth using as is.

Submitted(+1)

Oh totally! The reaction was fun, just not that usefull in most scenarios

Submitted(+1)

+1 vote for making the yellow more powerful! That one is definitely my favorite, really cool mechanic that just needs a little power up

Wow! Fun game, actually got me on my toes when I was running low on health. Cyan is quite broken though: I can just spam it and relish in the speed boost while dodging and gaining points. Yellow is very fun to use. Magenta deals huge damage (well, it felt like it) but is like a risk-reward system because you have to get close. I didn't use Green much because the heal was quite slow and the enemies are quite fast. Overall, very enjoyable game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I think all your points are spot on. I wanted to balance it so all the colors were useful in different scenarios, but didn’t quite get there. Cyan definitely needs a cooldown.
