  • Now this is A d v a n c e d G a m e p l a y. Jokes aside, this is definitely one of the most complex games of the jam, and probably one of the more complex RPG maker games I've seen to date. I love the character design, the setup and the stakes in this too, with a clear goal, an unclear threat and a dark and dingy setting. Personally, I would have maybe made the ship a tiny bit smaller and added some more tutorial slides - while I understood everything after a little while, the in-game tutorial doesn't really cover everything important. Besides that, I also sometimes felt like I was juggling too many things at once, though that may have also just been my poor luck. Still, it can get rather tedious sometimes, and you ideally want to prevent that. Tightening up the space and giving a more extensive tutorial should fix up all the issues I saw, so it's not a terribly difficult fix!
  • The limits were pushed in a different way with this game that's for sure! From the game's settings to having to manage the resources, Plight did great! I do wish the red wasn't so saturated as it did hurt my eyes. Oh! And an adjustment on the material spawns as both playthroughs I had issues getting what I assume is the most common metal. Nice job though!
  • A good resource management game. The narrative setup is simple but still does an excellent job to provide a source of pressure and a believable rational for the pregnancy mechanic. There is a short but steep learning curve, but the extensive tutorial section in the main menu did an excellent job explaining things. This game is definitely worth trying.
  • It took me a little bit to understand the mechanics of the game but once I figured it out it was very enjoyable. Pregnancy wise we can see progression of the character as we push forward with the story, nice touch with the movement speed change as well and difficulty the more pregnant she became. Gameplay was enjoyable once I figured things out, managing upgrades and systems while doing a sort of race against time. Creativity I felt the unique art assets and idea overall of the game was unique. Finally the jam theme is related to hyperpregnancy and liked how the larger she became, the more dire the situation becomes.

I like the concept for this, as it is pretty unique, but I feel the ship is simply too big and the gameplay flow is simply too much to handle.  While reading the tutorial made things slightly easier it still didn't reduce the overall work load.

Knowing which tool fixes which problem is nice, but there's no easy way to know what's broken at any point in time. Even with the bridge giving power indicators, there's no way to know what the problem is until you get there. Then you have to go the workshop to get the proper tool.

I cannot imagine how the experience would be for somebody who played without reading the tutorial. It must have been overwhelming.

I never figured out what the Tier 1 thru Tier 3 parts did, nor why I would want to make them.

The RNG nature of vital materials being constantly teleported onto the ship made a few runs outright impossible to progress. As I never got what I needed for long periods of time. With things constantly breaking: a game over was inevitable.

I would recommend having the "red hue" to be limited to the sides of the screen rather than an override over everything. As it became difficult to tell what problems were happening. Since knowing which color relates to which tool was, at least initially, helpful with figuring out what problems were happening.

I still like the concept. There's potential here. Thank you for your efforts!

Definitely a mistake to just hit New Game on startup, didn't see the tutorial menu. I get why an in-game interactive tutorial was cut for time constraints, but if there's any future development I think the game would greatly benefit from  letting the player play out the initial ship repairs before gestation.

If you've ever played the tutorial of Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2 where you repair the ship, basically that concept.

This is a great game but it's got some flaws. Very solid for a game jam entry, even if it does drag on towards the end. I think the largest problem is just the engine, RPGMaker is holding back a fun game here with it's clunky tile based movement and lack of feedback.

There is obviously some huge potential here, but it would be a lot of work to get there. I'm almost imagining a too many cooks style scenario as multiple androids run around the ship trying to keep it running while divvying up the pregnancies between them.

So I do like this game. It's a great concept. But... when it goes red it hurts my eyes. Not to mention I can't tell what color is what, making repairs unnecessarily difficult. I'd recommend just having red around the edges rather than make the entire screen red so that we can see better.
Also, the RNG is really egregious at times. I swear on my first run of this it gave me nothing but raw organics for 5 minutes straight when I desperately needed rare materials. Then, at one point I finally got a  T1 part to replace another, but the timer for when something breaks was up and that t1 part that I just put down broke.
Lastly, it would be nice if the sound queue's weren't random. If there's audio queues for when something breaks, I feel it should have consistency. Like a short circuit noise for when a T part breaks, or a crack sound when cracks appear.
Other than that, this game is good. Just shy of perfect.

It's a good concept but man it is tedious.
