The game had a quite interesting style to it, but was extremely short, especially compared to the non-skippable intro. First time I did of course want to read the story, though the play instructions could really have been left out of there. But since I just walked the right way and got the ending I wanted to see if I missed something, but waiting all that time in the intro again was way too much.

The little I got to notice of the game before it was over, I was surprised that the movement was so very slow while the turn was normal speed. The key was kind of hard to read too in its sort of exploded state, it felt like it would have looked better from above.

The music is really loud on the title screen too.

It would have been cool to see what you could have built with that particular high contrast style.

The writing was pretty good, but the text was way too slow, and I kept getting stuck in doorways, so I gave up on beating it.  Here's my first run all the same.

This was a neat, minimalist little crawler. The writing was humorous and I liked the story and the background in the dungeon was actually quite cool.

It did suffer from some issues however. the grid didn't always seem aligned and since you can fall off this can lead to some unfortunate player deaths. I kept getting stuck on the thresholds of the rooms/bridges, I think related to the physics, I think I was getting stuck on the "gap" between each room but eventually it would get past them. The minimalist style is good, but it was hard to understand what all was happening. There's no feedback or sound effects on anything, whether it's monster or opening doors. I didn't understand I was picking up keys until I realized it's shape at the very end. I'm not sure I encountered any puzzles either, but it's a jam entry, not everything will make it in.

I think with some polishing, some proper enemies, props and sound effects it could pull it all together to really take this to the next level. I recorded my playthrough here:

Very strange game with the style, the looks of game was intersting but the art work for cover dont make much sense at just dont match the style of the game. Idea was good and nice having bit of the story to game but felt it was slow at showing the text. Odd game but nice work on it

That was a very unusual style for sure, I don’t remember a dungeon crawler with such style :)

I found it hard at first to understand what is going on, why am I trying to kill a door and why other doors are fine, but after figuring it out I was able to complete the game!

Turning and movement speed seemed desynced, like turning was nice and fast, but movement was quite slow. I also was not always centered on some of these platforms, which felt weird for a dungeon crawler.

Really love the minimalist design and humor. However, there definitely needs to be a way to skip the intro for when you hit a game-breaking bug.

Interesting map! I included it in my compilation video series of all of the games from the Dungeon Crawler Jam.

Developer

Thanks for including my game in your compilation video series!

"the great dungeon has been conquered."

The background is cool, in fact aside from the lack of proper enemies I like the overall look of the game. I like the structure of the game with the chicken visible from the start behind a hard enemy and you have to gain 2 extra levels and come back, that's cool, it was fun to beat the game.

Movement is far too slow. Also I hate that you can't advance the text, clicking once on continue should fully display the text currently displayed and another click switch to the next. It was relevant as I think the game bugs when you try to enter a door and have no key, or something like that, so I hard to restart twice to manage to complete the game.

Thanks for sharing.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I’m glad you enjoyed the game’s look and structure.

I hear you on the slow movement and the text advancement — that’s definitely something I’ll work on improving.

Also, I’ll fix the door/key bug to avoid those restarts in the future.

I appreciate your insights and will continue improving the game. Thanks again for playing and sharing your thoughts!

Clucked to perfection... :P

I like the soundtrack very much!

The story in the beginning is great and makes you want to delve into the world.

The grid movement needs some work. Movement are a bit small, and the movement does not align with the world or a grid.

I walked into one enemy (white blob) and got stuck where I couldn't move and had to restart the game.

The keys are hard to see as keys, they just look strange.

There is a typo in the "donations" on main menu.

Would be nice to be able to fast forward/skip the story in the beginning.

Thanks for submitting. Keep at it!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing and for the detailed feedback! 😊

I’m really glad you enjoyed the soundtrack and the story introduction. I’ll definitely work on improving the grid movement, fixing the enemy bug, and making the keys more recognizable.

Thanks for pointing out the typo and the suggestion to add a skip option for the story — that’s a great idea!

Really appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts. I’ll keep improving! 🙏

Somehow, I managed to find my way to the goal twice in a row without doing any combat or puzzles, hahaha.

Yeah, making the intro skippable, or at least PRESS-SPACE-TO-SKIP-TO-NEXT-LINE would have improved the experience quite a lot.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback — I’ll definitely add a “Press Space to Skip” option to improve the experience. That will make things smoother, especially for those who want to dive straight into the action. Appreciate you playing and sharing your thoughts, it really helps me improve the game! Stay tuned for the updates! 🙌

"The cluckening is over!"

Interesting idea and cool cinematic music (which may trigger copyrights claims for streamers!)

I liked the story but please make it skip able. I got stuck a couple of times and while I do not mind to restart a game it is a bit annoying to read like 3 minutes of the same text over and over again.

The movement should be faster, would make things feel more dynamic.

Hint: You can complete the game in less then 30s (after reading 3 minutes worth of lore) I am not sure if this is intentional.

Nice work! Thanks for sharing.

Developer

Thanks so much for the feedback and for playing! 😊 I’m glad you liked the idea and the cinematic music (I’ll definitely consider potential copyright issues for streamers moving forward). I hear you on the story skip and movement speed — I’ll make sure the story is skippable in the next update and work on speeding up the movement to make things more dynamic. And thanks for pointing out the 30s completion time, that’s definitely something I’ll look into, wasn’t intentional! Really appreciate your time and feedback, it helps a lot! Stay tuned for more updates! 🙌

Interesting concept! Obviously, the game is in a very incomplete state but the lore was neat. As for the movement, I thought the movement was really slow and clunky, the transition between tiles could have been sped up quite a bit. Some bugs I encountered for your reference are that you can walk through enemies, the health bar is over top some text elements, and when you collide with the sphere it off centers you from the tile which completely breaks the game. Good work overall!

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for the feedback! 😊 I’m glad you enjoyed the lore, and I appreciate your thoughts on the movement. I’ll definitely work on speeding up the transitions and fixing the bugs you mentioned, especially the collision and health bar issues. It’s really helpful to know about the sphere collision bug, I’ll make sure that’s fixed in the next update. Thanks again for playing and taking the time to share your thoughts — it’s super valuable! Keep an eye out for future improvements! 🙌
