this was really great! i liked the concept and i liked the neighborhood setting. personally i would've liked it zoomed out more, as i died quite a few times from a very fast bullet coming from some direction where i had no idea there was an enemy, and thats exponentially worse when the bullets dont collide with the buildings.

but then again, having it zoomed in does play into the dulled perception thing i guess. and the falling mechanic does give the player a chance and is funny.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback! I have an update coming post jam with slower bullets and bullet collision with buildings :)

What a charming little silly game, hahah!

Maybe I would’ve appreciated if the bullets collided with the buildings, so there was a bit more strategy involved in taking cover to avoid getting shot.

I was worried the weird drunk controls would become frustrating, but surprisingly they didn’t.

Good job!

Developer

Thanks for the comment! I'll definitely add bullets colliding with buildings to the list for the post jam update :D

Best timed alien invasion ever XD

Pretty funny concept, and i like how the tutorial was just the character still at the bar and when you walk out the actual game starts.

Controls are fine and the random home location every run makes it replayable so that’s a cool feature.

I feel one hit death is a bit hard considering how fast paced the game is, and the start dialogue out of the bar should be skippable when retrying upon death to spend less time waiting between runs.

Other than that, nice entry :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing! I'm working on a balancing update for the end of the jam making the game easier and adding skippable dialogue :)

Cool ! and don’t worry it’s understandable to not have the time to have balanced difficulty for a jam version, time do be short :p

Submitted(+1)

I successfully walked home. And it was hilarious. I love that it's super fast, and short but not easy, that fits, and oddly enough despite the on purpose weirdness the controls feel good anyway so it's fun to play. Lying down with the enemies waiting for you to wake up to kill you is obviously the best part but I'm sure you were aware it is.

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad you had a fun time playing :D

This is super charming! I really love the playing dead mechanic. I think the main things it could've benefitted from is primarily slower enemy bullets, since they can sometimes come from offscreen so quickly you have no time to react (and making them slower would also allow for more variety in shot patterns), and faster respawns (jumping straight to getting the gun instead of the little cutscene before it); but it's super fun all the same.

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the comment! I already have a balancing update coming post jam with slower bullets and a way to skip dialogue :D

This game is goofy as hell and I love it. 11/10 would play again.

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words :D

Concept is awesome but WAYYYY TOO HAAAAARD ^^

it's impossible to react in time.

Nice storytelling !

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I already have a balancing update in the works for when the jam ends which should make the game a lot easier :)

HAha very cool idea for a bullet hell. Really cool to play and the art looks so cute :) It is really hard, though

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the comment! I'm already working on a balancing update for when the jam ends :)

I think this is the average experience of getting home from a bar in Chicago at night. The one-hit deaths were a little bit annoying, but that did get me to laugh for a good minute or two. The comedic timing of immediately getting shot at by aliens after leaving the bar was pretty good.

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words! This comment made my day!

Submitted(+1)

yep I'm all in on this one. leisure suit larry meets the worlds end. if you get those two references we can be friends.

Submitted(+1)

Nice game. The comedic aspect really shines with the movements, the track and the narrative you implemented. I would just suggest to increase the enemies shoot anticipation, reducing the bullet speed or adding a visual indicator on the screen side if any bullets i arriving to you from out of screen to reduce the number of unfair defeats. Good job ^^

Developer

Thank you for the kind words and feedback! I have a balancing update planned for when the jam ends in which bullets are slowed down :D

its a fun short game, although visuals may be enhanced. sfx is peak tho

Developer

Thanks for the comment! I wanted to add more variety to the house sprites, but you know how it goes ':D

I love the fact that my dude can't even walk straight. Very fun.
Wish there was a way to skip intro dialogue, as I die quite fast and have to count fingers again and again.

Developer

Thanks so much for playing! I agree that a way to skip dialogue would be smart. I'll implement it once the rating period is over!

I love everything about this, my only nit-pick is 1 shot your 're dead :( give us at least 3 lives before we die for us noobs lol, fun game :D

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback! I already have plans for a balancing update post jam which should give the player a bit more leeway :)

Submitted(+1)

It's very good

Developer

Thank you :)

Such a fun concept for the theme! The dialogues and the sleep mechanism were hilarious! Great job ^ ^

Developer(+1)

Thank you! Glad you had a good time :D

I remember stumbling onto this game on your youtube channel haha (I was the chair), It was cool seeing your progress lol. I feel like the 1 hit death was a bit too much though. Dialogue was hilarious! good work

Developer

OMG, I remember seeing your comment on YouTube! Thank you so much for the support! A lot of people are saying it's a bit too easy to die so I'll probably do a balancing update post jam :)

Submitted(+1)

haha wonderful concept. I felt like this was a story I've lived for real. Audio could use a little work but the aesthetic I absolutely loved.

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for the kind words! Audio is definitely not my strong suit so I understand it's not the best, but I tried ':D

Submitted(+1)

Bonus points for the name too mam haha

Developer

Thanks again LOL

I could reach home :) Fun to play. I tried using the sleep mechanic, but lost, then instead i just dodged and ran

Developer

Thank you so much! Glad you had fun & made it home! I threw in the sleep mechanic kind of last minute so it may be a bit buggy.

Submitted(+1)

No it was cool, and also funny :D

Developer

Thank you so much for the kind words :D

Submitted(+1)

Lying down to avoid getting shot is very funny. I do think that the enemy projectiles travel too fast and it makes it very hard to dodge their bullets.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback! Glad you had fun! I slowed down enemy projectiles a little bit before submitting, but I guess they're still too fast. I'll slow them down more once we're allowed to update our games again :)
