Thanks for the feedback, will definitely look to add some indicators for the placement of gravediggers :)

Thanks for playing, and the feedback! Totally agree with you on the dice roll section being a large part - in fact thats how it started out, but as the time ticked down, i realised that i wouldnt be able to finish it if i kept adding choices! I need a scalable way to do that which ive figured out now, so will work on that for the next one. The bug is probably just the npcs running out of graves to dig and happens when either all graves are occupied or already dug. But not sure if thats what happened?
Hey i played through once and i think i got the good ending? I mean i guessed correctly who not to open for.. Anyway, well done on this, i think it had the foundations for a good mystery game, and as you mentioned, with more refined dialogue and art, it will definitely feel more polished and interesting. The characters seemed good and it wasnt really obvious who the killer is. I was a bit lucky i guess :D The trick or treat section was a nice touch and i think with more dialogue refinement it will feel much better. It could have some more interactions to gauge who the killer is.
Overall great effort, i understand it is very difficult to coordinate with 4 people in a short time, but i hope the learning stays with you!
Solid entry!! It looks great, especially loved the crt look, the backgrounds are great and the gameplay is really fun (although a bit tough for me) The music fits the urgency and sfx are good. I tried 3 times and got around 5 max, but i think i had reached a skill ceiling so doubt if i would have gotten any better.
I had a little trouble distinguishing between tiles which you can jump on vs ones you can go through, so probably some color saturation to make the platforms popout would be good. Great job on this, really polished and fun :)
The reality hog got me twice :( my reactions arent good enough! Great concept though and really liked the hunting part of the game. I got a bit lost getting the first couple of boars but i guess that was part of the hunt, so then i got better at it for the next few.
The boss fight was a really cool concept and fit the theme really well.. i sort of got the sense of how to do it but my aim really is bad for fps games so couldnt kill the hog. Probably an on-screen UI for the direction from which the hog will come might have been useful.
Overall really fun worldbuilding and the picture of the woods is lovely, i can see where the look of the game was inspired from!
Really fun game, and a good twist on the vampire survivors like. The combat felt nice and the upgrade system was great. Adn good to see another grave robbing game in the jam ;) Only suggestion i would have is on the UI - it didnt quite seem to fit the vibe of the in game art and felt too cluttered.
Other than that it was a really good effort that you were able to add this much content in just 4 days, well done!
Had fun playing this - got till the 3rd shift but the munchies got me! Really well executed for a 4 day jam, i loved the art, its quite unique and a refreshing change from the typical 3d assets! THe movement and combat felt very smooth and very less friction in getting to the puzzles and understanding the mechanics.
Overall the gameplay was quite satisfying and the difficulty ramp up felt nice! Great job on this :)
This was a short but fun game, looks really great, i loved the artstyle even though it had minimal assets and animations. It really sold the ship atmosphere for me. The music was also perfect for the theme and the chaotic slashing, great job on that! I won on easy, but hard was too difficult for me.
I initially felt that the knife would move with the cursor on the y axis as well so was a bit disorienting to move the cursor but the knife only moving sideways. Other than that i would have liked to see more gameplay, but for a 4-day jam i can understand the restrictions! Overall, well done to all :)
This was awesome! I had so much fun, and for the first 3-4 tries i died a lot because i couldnt see the detection radius of the ghost hunters. But lucky that i decided to play it through! The halloween and theme interpretation of this is spot on! The story and dialogues are great and bonus points for the voice acting :D The gameplay is also quite fun and challenging at times. I loved the art, even though it is rough, its charming and communicates really well all the elements that need to be communicated. I like how the recurring characters keep coming and giving you some upgrades, thats a neat way to keep things interesting.
Great job on this, well done to all!
Hey, I played this for a few times, and its a nice little platformer and the concept is great! The artstyle is cute and i really liked the cat character! It was a good test whether the game is intuitive or not since i cant read the language and glad to say that just the in-game directions were enough to help me get the controls right! I liked the mechanic of switching day and night and the little puzzle solving you have to do to progress. However i tried a lot but couldnt get past the second level :( both the day and night platforms were either too high or had spikes which i couldnt get past.. It could be a skill issue since im not that great with puzzle platformers.
Overall though nice entry, well done :)
Lovely entry and a really great way to pay tribute to someone you love :) The artstyle and ambience fit the vibe really well and the story was beautifully told. I liked the loop of the game also - some mechanical activity combined with a progressing story. The fishing mechanic itself was easy to learn and fun to do.
A few suggestions in case you decide to build on this further - The fishing mechanic implemented was solid, but it was pretty easy (and thats perfectly fine if youre going for that) but it could have some more challenge without it being too overwhelming - check out cult of the lamb fishing mechanic - you can add on to what you already have to give it more depth and add a little bit of challenge especially when you are reeling back the fish, I think you had the tension and alignment but i didnt understand how it factored in the equation as i always caught the fish.
Overall great job on this! Art and music are great and the sound effects fit really well. Congrats!
Well done on this unique entry! I reached the end and matched all of the inconsistent pairs, but really couldnt figure out the mystery! But i loved the story and the intrigue of it all. It is quite well written and the game is forgving enough to let you progress through all of it. Even the matching section was quite simple, and i really didnt apply logic, but just tried to match the pairs!
The artwork is great, loved the hand drawn aesthetic, and the UI is very clean and consistent. SFX was perfect for this type of game and every little interaction had some feedback which felt pleasing.
I love your interpretation of the theme and how it is executed, great work :)
Really cool controls - it took a little bit of time to get used to it, but havent seen such controls anywhere and felt fun to roll with the momentum of the ball! The boss level was very difficult, could not get through after many tries! Adding a level before that for the player to get used to the controls and dodging etc. would work well.
Otherwise, the art was good and I liked the first background track. The second one was a bit jarring haha, just could be a matter of taste though :D
Well done on the entry :)
Hey, played this for2 turns and really had fun with it! I love turn based games and to see one in a jam is quite rare, so i was pleasantly surprised. There is a really good amount of content there to keep a player engaged for half an hour easily. There is a good amount of thinking and planning you need to win and the challenge level is also good. I loved the art from the screenshots - its really well done, though in game it feels a little overwhelming as in it is a bit difficult to distinguish between players, enemies and the background. Making the background a little less detailed would solve this issue i think. Also in my first run i went in the opposite direction :D would be helpful if there were some indication of which direction is home. Otherwise you have done a good job of explaining a pretty complex game in a short amount of time.
The music is a banger! Well done to the composer.. it fits the gameplay and the vibe perfectly. Overall, a solid entry, well done :)
Its a nice puzzle game, fun to play for a few short levels. I liked the shortcut mechanism, opened up a lot more possibilities.
A few suggestions - I think some more variations in the puzzles would add to the gameplay. The movement of the car can be instant sincei its a grid based thing and maybe if instead of time if number of moves were the metric, would be easier. The UI text is a little bit hard to read. Also some variation in the audio and sfx would make a bit more dynamic.
Overall nice concept and tie in with the theme, well done :)
Really cool take on the theme, and fun gameplay :D I liked the level of difficulty especially the crossing bit - was really frustrating at times, but once you got the hang of it was a good challenge! The music fit the vibe really well and the sfx were great! There were a few instances where the flashlight man was near me where i respawned so i kept restarting in a loop and cars kept hittingme while i was fallen so wasnt able to get up for a while! Some way to respawn in a safer position would be good.
Overall great work on this! Its a unique and funny take :)
Hey, i played this for a while and well done on creating a nice atmosphere and a good game loop. What i loved most was how the audio created a very calming backdrop for a relaxing fishing game. A few suggestions on the gameplay - I liked the reaction game - i think its a good fit for a game like this. But the others need to be refined a bit more. The overall vibe of the game is relaxing and casual, so the minigames should be very forgiving, and that was not thecase here - just one misstep and you los the fish in that place which seemed quite unfair. Art wise, i liked the models and color scheme used. The UI needs some polishing, but i like the minimalist approach. The environmental SFX like the water flowing when the boat was moving was a cool effect! Well done on this, you have a really good concept and some polishing on the gameplay will make it more enjoyable :)
This would make for a great rage game :D The scaling of the difficulty on this is just right for a jam game. I loved the artstyle and the simple mechanics. Missed the audio though - i think there were a few SFX, but a background track would have made this more fun.
I liked how with just a few obstacles there was a lot of skill required to navigate and cross the path, great work on this :)
This is a fun arena shooter type game. I liked the reactor and cooling mechanic which was a unique twist on the genre. The movement and shooting were quite fun and the enemy progression was also quite balanced (for the easy difficulty). The art was decent, but felt that the font was a bit hard to read and some of the in-game elements were a bit hard to figure out if they were harmful/ helpful.
On the theme - frankly i see no relation to long way home in the theme, maybe im totally missing something?
Overall its a fun game, and has a lot of systems which games in this genre have, which can be expanded on and polished.
Great concept and execution! What i liked most was how the theme, gameplay and art fit so well with each other and gave a tight well rounded experience! I loved the hand drawn map, symbols and tiny characters. The grid was also done very organically as part of a paper - looked great! Although all of the elements were hand drawn, it was very easy to distinguish each one and it did not interfere in the gameplay at all. One thing i would change is the image on the left which felt a bit inconsistent with the rest of the art and the UI slider for the speed.
The gameplay itself was engaging and i liked that you kept a star based system and not simply win/ lose. Overall great job, would love to see this as a full fledged game :)
Really cute relaxing puzzle game which is not too challenging, but has some interesting worldbuilding and characters which kept me engaged till the end. I love the backgrounds, maps and characters which i came across and spoke with. The UI was a bit wonky for me as there were overlaps in the text for dialogues - it may have something to do with screen scaling. Liked the color palette used - indicated a chilled out game and went well with the audio.
Gameplay wise i liked the onboarding and how you slowly expanded the puzzle elements without overwhelming the player. However, i was looking forward to actually using some of the mechanics on my own for something a bit more non-obvious. I understand that you were going more for the story element, but i guess a little harder puzzles would have made the experience much more interesting. I like the audio selection and the sound effects were great!
All in all well done on this, it was the perfect amount of scope for a jam game and a very pleasant experience from start to end :)
Well done on getting your first submission! I really like the hand drawn aesthetic and text, feels unique and you should definitely lean into this for future jams!
Some suggestions on the mechanics: The movement controller should be refined further - should be able to move left even when up or down is pressed etc. and vice versa. Boundaries of the walkable area should be visually made evident. While i think that the movement animation is quite quirky, and unique, the character sprite should still maintain dimensions as it is moving up and down and also have some idle animation.
Overall great start to your game jam journey, all the best :)
Played this for a few times and initially (after immediately dying!) was a bit turned off as i had no clue why i was dead! But later i sorta figured out how to proceed. I think the core idea is cool - getting back home drunk after a party fits the theme well.
One suggestion is that for a game that is supposed to be quite difficult, you should not have the players go through the entire intro everytime. Either have a skip intro button or just bypass it completely. The controls are difficult to get used to especially since the cars are coming quite fast initially. For the player to get used to the controls, maybe have less cars coming in in the first minute or so and then ramp up the difficulty? Also would be useful if the player knew exactly what to avoid (i initially thought that i was the driver!)
I like the artstyle - especially the intro backgrounds look really good! Well done on putting this together in just 10 hours, you can definitely polish the gameplay more post the jam, this idea has potential for sure :)
Such a good time! I tried hard to get in the top 10 but only managed 12th haha.
Its a really cool integration of the theme with the mechanic of doing stunts and earning points for that. And its also quite easy to pickup, but has a skill threshold for getting the longer combos. There is some luck involved, but its upto you to spot the chains of cars and buses and then go for it! The juice is also pretty good - the slam and the grinding on the bus feels really good and combined with nice realistic sound effects!
The background tracks were good, but for some reason they sort of stopped loopoing for me in one of the runs, but i was so focused on the gameplay itself that it didnt really take anything away from the experience.
Only one slight hiccup was that there were times when i pressed the slam but it didnt really register, which felt a bit disappointing as i missed 2x for some long chains! I gues there is some window in which you have to press the key,so would be good if it were longer - like just before the car landed if you managed to press it, it would register and then you would get the benefit of the slam.
The game has a lot of character with the reactions of bystanders and once a burger which was hilarious :D
Great going on this, super fun :)
Very cool interpretation of the theme and a nice minimalist artstyle which fits the gameplay and theme really well. The controls are difficult, but dont seem unfair except for at one point when you are trying to start the bike after falling. I think that part should be tuned so that you dont always immediately fall after you press any key. That was quite frustrating! Apart from that though, it feels great riding the bike and maneouvering it once it gets going. The background track is beautiful! Feels like a well made polished an unique experience, well done :)
Really cool different concept and mechanic, has a pretty unique artstyle and looks good as well. I tried for around 5-6 times, but i couldnt get past the 3rd or 4th obstacle.. i think maybe the difficulty tuning is a bit of an issue as well as the unforgiving nature of the game - just 1 attempt to cross and restart from he beginning after failure. Maybe it is more of the fact that aiming the trajectory of the shoe is not exact and it takes a few attempts since the game is in 2D and the character moves along the Z-axis. For example to land on the platform i had to move the mouse many time from different angles to get the correct trajectory. These factors combines make it bery difficult to pickup and get into instantly as there are a lot of factors which cause fricition very early on. The art is done well especially the player character and also the obstacles. I think it needs polish in the gameplay and mechanics but has enough good elements to build on, well done :)
Really good concept which fits the theme and well executed! I liked how different events affect the travel mode and paths. This could be expanded into a larger game with more levels and more polished art! I think that maybe there could be some penalty for choosing certain smaller routes which could impact the outcome of the level. Currently it is just win/ lose, but instead if it were graded as stars or points, it would add a lot of depth. Well done with the current implementation, its a really good start and I had fun with these 2 levels.
Really cool looking art! I loved the player character and the animations especially after he's eaten by zombies :D The monster character sprites are also really well done, fits into the whole zombie survivors vibe but also gives it a casual look. The sound effects are also nice, and the background music goes well with the the atmosphere. On the gameplay side, the idea of the combat is good, but its lacking in feel a bit especially on player hitting enemies and vice versa. Also the margin for error for the player is quite less. I think that at least till you get out on the road, it should be VERY difficult to die since its an onboarding for the player. Plus the controls are confusing - ideally it should be one button to attack - regardless of which attack it is. Overall well done on the game, its a really cool concept which fits the theme and looks really good with all the animations, a little more polishing in the combat and difficulty scaling should improve the feel by a lot :)
Really lovely and polished game! Even though I was pretty bad at this (averaged around 3 stars in 5-6 attempts) I still enjoyed it a lot. The audio and the beautiful UI effects do a LOT to make the experience pleasurable. This could easily be released as a mobile puzzle game! I tried my hand at the 4x4 grid, but got overwhelmed pretty soon, but the 3x3 for me was good fun. I couldn't really figure out a strategy, but I think it has something to do with elimination of options Similar to a sudoku. The concept is very unique and original and fits the theme nicely! Well done, always enjoy playing your games in jams :)
Hey, played this one, and had a fun time experiencing the story with its twists and turns. I liked how the player slowly unravels information about himself and gains his senses. Its cool that you place some clues in the library books and some lore about the world. Good job on the storytelling. I felt that there was some actual combat in the game since there was some character screen which had stats but I guess that was just a template? I read through pretty much all the dialogues and didn't really find it uninteresting even though there was a lot. Probably there could have been a few puzzle like elements in the second part of the game similar to the button one in the first part. The mage test was weird but I'm guessing it was base on some decisions I made in the past - want able to figure that one out! Overall it was a really good narrative experience and a different take on the theme which was refreshing!
