Good game overall. Unlike some other players, I read the instruction and the game was fairly easy. I was clicking fast but not THAT fast and still ended with at least double the quota.
Needs improvements:
1. I don't usually like playing clicking games by itself unless there's a good story, cool visuals, or another gameplay element. I didn't like the aspect of the grave diggers disappearing because then I struggle to feel progression. I know you can buy buffs for the next nights but those mostly feel like number modifiers and not super interesting to me. Maybe I'm a wrong audience.
2. The only bug I encountered was some gravediggers trying to dig a grave that was already dug meaning they just stand there and do nothing.
What I like:
1. The dnd dice role section was cool and I sort of wish you had more of it. It made your game stand out more so if it was expanded, I think that could help? Like maybe the rat goblin would talk to you a bit more or you roll a dice in the background after digging up a grave/any chance thing. I'm not sure. Fun thing for me during the game: I highrolled every single time.
2. I enjoyed looking at the gravediggers walk around the path. I wish the graves broke faster so more of them would be moving on my screen at once. Is that weird?
Thanks for playing, and the feedback! Totally agree with you on the dice roll section being a large part - in fact thats how it started out, but as the time ticked down, i realised that i wouldnt be able to finish it if i kept adding choices! I need a scalable way to do that which ive figured out now, so will work on that for the next one. The bug is probably just the npcs running out of graves to dig and happens when either all graves are occupied or already dug. But not sure if thats what happened?
Thanks for making this, the rat goblin with a skull and its demand for bones set up a fun pressure right away. I clicked graves to collect bones one at a time, watched the day timer run down, and then chose Negotiate at night, where my roll landed exactly on 10 and let me hand over half of the 100 bones. The graveyard art and the dice choice made the night visit feel like a real event. One thing that would help is a clearer sign for where to place a gravedigger, because my own clicking alone only got me to 2 bones before night, and I did not find the stone platforms in time.
Thanks for the feedback, will definitely look to add some indicators for the placement of gravediggers :)
1) I'm super glad you had fun, it's a nice game overall.
2) Clicking on a time limit isn't my idea of fun - I didn't break out the auto-clicker but definitely is tempting.
3) The gravediggers should auto come out, the first night it didn't come out until almost the end as I didn't click on the thing (sure - I probably should have read the instructions better)
4) The sound was a great fit.
Thanks for the feedback! Yes in hindsight i should have made it so that you can just hover on the graves to collect instead of clicking, but just didnt realize in the short time frame.
Yeah! Digging up graves to feed a spooky goblin is some proper Halloween fun!
I had some good throws- always picked a fight with the rat-goblin and always won (even though I found only one sword and a bunch of crowns).
I liked the graphics a lot- the gravediggers were cute (not a quality they normally strive for, I guess), the rat goblin was creepy, all the other elements had consistent style. The particle effects when digging the grave, and the more and more damaged graves were a nice touch. That's attention to detail, which I wouldn't expect from a submission for a 4 day jam.
The sound was ok. Provided feedback, and the music fit the atmosphere.
The gameplay was a nice take on the incremental genre. Usually not my cup of tea, but I think it works well in game jams! Upgrades felt meaningful (nothing worse than an upgrade that doesn't affect the gameplay). I was surprised you can defeat the goblin-rat early. At the start I thought it was supposed to be a sort of boss at the end.
Over all- first game I played this jam, so it's off to a great start! Keep it up!
Thanks you so much for playing! Im happy that you noticed the damaged grave stones. ive taken up learning vector art these past few weeks and wanted to try out some tricks :D
I liked the idea of combining a clicker idle game with dnd machenics and the art style was nice.
Hey thanks! I wanted to try out how the loop felt, and glad that you liked it:)
