The day and night cycle landed well, with a Warrior starting Day 01 in Mossgrave, a timer counting to nightfall, and then spirits attacking at night while a Wailing Warden boss bar appeared and my vitality dropped from 140 to 108. The graveyard, shops and pixel graves look strong. My constructive note is that robbing a grave was not clear for me, since I walked to graves and pressed E without opening one, so a clearer interact prompt would help.
Really fun game, and a good twist on the vampire survivors like. The combat felt nice and the upgrade system was great. Adn good to see another grave robbing game in the jam ;) Only suggestion i would have is on the UI - it didnt quite seem to fit the vibe of the in game art and felt too cluttered.
Other than that it was a really good effort that you were able to add this much content in just 4 days, well done!
Im weak to the 80s arcade astetic haha
the game is very fun, as someone who did a lot of pixel art i really liked it in this game
What I Liked
- The gameplay was pretty fun; I've played games like this before, and I find them very satisfying.
What I Disliked
- I could tell most of the art, and if not the whole game, was AI-generated. The object placement and pixel scaling looked inhuman, and it just looked like AI made it. I don't want to jump to conclusions, mainly because you didnt say anything about AI, but I've seen AI art/slop before, and I can see some similarities. (I'm genuinely sorry if your art style just looks like AI, this is just my opinion)
- It doesn't really feel like it was made for this theme, it kinda feels like a recycled game used in this game jam.
Overall, I think it's pretty good, but my opinion is kinda based on whether you actually used AI. Again, this is just speculation. If you didnt, just tell me up front, I would believe you, but I'm personally just heavily against generative AI.
I did not. Thank you for giving it a try. Ill try to take your suspition as a compliment of my development.
I purchass the assets, they all came from a bundle which is listed in the credits.
What if the people who sold you the bundle used ai lol
It wasnt tagged AI haha I bought it on itch.io
cute game and idea, I like the graveyard theme and the little tree sprites.
