Are you using any third party assets?
The music is from assets from "Pizza Doggy" on itch.io

The sound effects are from Imphenzia's Universal Sound FX unity asset.

Are you using any AI generated assets?
I used an AI code assistant to explore and understand Unity better. I still did the logic and problem solving but the AI would show me more paths I could take to achieve my goal. For example, using the Layer Collision Matrix instead of making every bullet an "enemy" or "player" bullet.

I won! It's cool because I didn't die during the playthrough and then I restarted to see if you may ever die and then realised I was probably close to dead when I won.

I enjoyed the game, it's a fun mechanic and the levels make good use of it.

Pretty cool idea! Absorbing a lot of bullets and then releasing all of them at once was pretty satisfying! However, I feel like this mechanic trivializes the game a bit too much, you don’t really need to ever dodge ^^’

I also would’ve appreciated some indicator for the HP, to know how close I was to dying.

Other than that, it’s a cool game, good job getting it done for your first JAM :)!

I really liked the idea that instead of dodging enemy bullets, you have to collect them and then fire them back at your enemies , very clever! The sound effects were solid, and I think you handled the choice to go without traditional graphics nicely by using Unity’s post-processing effects. Overall, I found the whole concept quite interesting. One suggestion I’d make is to maybe add a mechanic where you take damage if you don’t collect bullets, just to give the gameplay a bit more weight. Solid effort!

Very fun to play, and a really cool concept :)

I love the concept, needs a bit of work regarding visually showing we are absorbing bullets, maybe we flash expand/contract even more, but its an awesome concept and I had fun playing it! :) grats on your first game jam!

I had fun playing it overall. It's a cool concept that just needs to be fleshed out a little more. Well done for your first game jam!

Very good for a first gamejam! The game def isn't perfect, I'd love to see my health (I may just be blind) and perhaps some extra variety in enemies/bullets. But the combination of absorbing bullets and then shooting them back somehow felt really satisfying, Also the bullet vaporizing effect as they hit the borders was a nice touch. Enjoyed this more than I thought I would, great job!

Developer

Im glad you enjoyed it :)

And you are not blind, there was no health bar which was probably my biggest mistake by far.

Hey congrats on your first gamejam!

I had fun playing your game :)

Some feedback/ideas:

  • Some missiles maybe should not be absorbable (A different color than absorbable ones)
  • Would be nice to see the direction that I will shoot

Hope you participate in more jams!

Developer

Seeing the direction that you will shoot is such a great idea that didn't even cross my mine! Thank you for your feedback and for playing my game :)

I will be sure to participate in more jams, they are so fun! The next one I will participate in is Metroidvania Month 28!

Love the idea, simple geometric but that really work  in this space. Would have liked to have a health bar (unless i missed it) or even better, the cube could get more and more red as you deteriorate. it would add a nice layer of tension.

Amazing mechanic and it felt really cool to play. thanks!

Not adding a health bar was my biggest mistake. A good lesson for future projects. Thanks for playing <3
