Really fun entry! I love the artstyle and the SFX added so much charm to the experience ✨

this was really well done and polished, made me want to keep playing. i think the shooting is almost there, it felt like enemies had to take just a liiiiiiiiiiiiittle too many hits and made the game not flow as well as it should.  maybe seeing them stumble or react to hits (before death) would be nice. but i liked being able to use cover and i thought the bullet speeds were really nicely timed, so that i could strategize and properly dodge.

overall, really enjoyed it, nice job!

Pretty fun game! The concept is well executed and I love little details like the windows you can shoot through!

I would say though, that shooting feels a bit awkward with the slow reload time. Perhaps making the bullets do a bit less damage, but allowing to fire more of them between each reload would have felt a bit better.

Also, the carrot explosive weapon has some loud-ass SFX, I had to lower the whole game’s volume just to not get my eardrums broken by that lol.

In any case, overall it’s a pretty cool and fun game, great job!

STAGE CLEARED

I had fun haphazardly dashing like crazy during the two rooms before the boss because that was the only way I could beat them and somehow had even more fun clearing the few first and boss rooms without getting hit nor dashing as it was all the more satisfying.

The game looks great with detailed environements in the context and it sounds great too including the over-the-top voice lines, the audio and visual feedbacks when an enemy dies are super satisfying. The game controls well, the different enemies each offer their own threat and I actually enjoyed how the enemies also kind of have a reload time, I got much better at the game when I started to stop walking to shoot at the appropriate times rather than shooting while walking. The overall difficulty and length are perfect for the jam.

Very cool game!

I loved the 3d aspect of it! Super fun and interesting concept haha, I LOVED the voice acting!

Submitted(+1)

Loved the cute low poly vegetable enemies, the sounds were mostly good but the ai voices kind of sours it, camera definitely needed some work because its extremely precise movement didn't lend itself to dodging well.

Submitted(+1)

I really wanted to persevere, but I found the camera that follows the player "to the pixel" very punishing when trying to dodge bullethelly patterns?

Developer(+1)

Yeah in retrospect some camera follow damping would have made for a smoother experience I think

This was great fun, and the boss fight was neat too.

Really loved the food theme too, really gave me Hades meets Gungeon vibes with a tomato twist to it, great entry!

The isometric perspective and the addition of things like the windows where you can shoot but not walk past were little small but clever things that give this an edge. I love the movement of the tomato and the dash was a neat addition, but man... The shooting just felt so weak and unsatisfying. Even past the sound effects, you do such little damage to enemies per bullet with your default gun (or rather, enemies have far too much health), and the reloading is so slow, it really gives the whole game kind of an "awkward" hit and run vibe and makes replaying enemy arenas when you die really tedious. Even when you know how to avoid the bullets it just becomes frustrating. This is the kind of game whose biggest issue is just small numbers. With some tweaks to the math this could become a really charming, exciting experience.

Developer(+1)

Yeah I feel you on that.

I realize also since I didn’t have time to add any upgrades or alternative weapons I should have at least made the one gun decent to use.

Thanks for the playing and the valuable feedback!

In love with the sound effects and voice lines, dashing felt so good to use. Honestly my favorite 3d game in the entire jam. Great work!

OK ITS WORKING NOW. don't know what that was about.

Fantastic. great use of the tools you used, really smooth game, very well designed. Absolutely love it.

Developer(+1)

Glad you got it working! Thanks for persisting :D I’m happy you enjoyed it

Pretty solid visuals overall! I like that you challenged yourself with an isometric perspective, which can be tricky to get right with bullet hell games or shmups in general. It seems like you got it down!

Nice game, has a good feel and the concept works. The camera is the one thing that could use some work, not sure what it is, but feels weird. Maybe should track the player instead of the cursor

Developer

I think its lacking damping probably. It reacts too quickly to your motion/cursor position. Or maybe the look ahead is too much!

I won't rate yet as I can't move!!! If you could reach out I'd love to try your game!

Developer

Oh no! Inputs are not working for you? Or too laggy?

Submitted

I can't move at all. wasd just not responding. doesn't look laggy

Developer

Does shooting work?

I wonder if your game is not getting any inputs at all or just keyboard

Submitted

Shooting does work yes

Strong polished game with a good visual style. Solid gameplay too - enemies maybe had slightly too much health. Voice lines were a bit loud on audio balance. Overall, very enjoyable.

Really great game! Good controls, enemy attacks feel fair, was a bit sad when it already ended after the first boss :P.

The carrots charged attack was a bit too loud and some of those voice lines felt a bit out of place. And as someone else mentioned it would have be nice to see the attacks be more thematic to the whole food thing. Still great work!

Holy tomatoes, this is some of the coolest concepts I've seen in a while. The gameplay just put a grin on my face, I couldn't stop smiling. It kind of reminds me of an old Psone title that I can't remember the name of.
Fantastic work, please make a full post-jam version! :D

Really well made and fun game! The visuals are really solid too!

The one thing that kinda irked me though (and this might just be my own preference, so take it with a grain of salt) is what felt like a lack of thematic consistency. You have a really great (and funny) foundation of produce in a store gaining sentience and going on a rampage, but they do so with realistic(ish) laser weapons, which kinda breaks things. My favourite enemy in the game was by far the egg since its attack was thematically consistent. It just got me thinking about other enemies and what they could do if their attacks matched what they were. Like, what if the onion released a poison cloud every time it was hit? What if the carrot had a baby-carrot shotgun, but then those baby-carrots (being produce themselves) would get up and charge the player for a bit? What if the lettuce dropped leaves that acted as shields as it takes damage?

So the good news is that there's a pretty incredible opportunity here, I just wish it was a bit more present in the game as it stands.

Otherwise, again, this is really well made, great work!

The graphics are stunning and the overall feel of the game is good, there's plenty variety of enemies and the game play doesn't get repetitive that fast. The tomato screaming GET FUCKED caught me of guard tho XD. Great job!

Submitted(+1)

The voicelines where just hilarious and the whole gameplay was quite fun and well executed. Maybe it felt a bit repetitive over time (some upgrades would be really cool for example) but anyways it is still amazing for the time we had. The 3d graphics and overall feel was stunning too, good job!

Developer(+1)

Yes I really wanted to do upgrades but ran out of time :( My plan was hades style upgrades where you basically add modifiers to your attacks. Like chain lightning or piercing shots

Thanks for playing!
