Very creative. Love the sounds and the arm!
Working with probabilities is fun. There's something fascinating about needing to manipulate your dice when you don't know what you're gonna have to deal with later (though you do eventually learn as you play). That 7 is especially nasty and definitely posed a problem. But still, managed to get to the end.
I definitely also found a way to lock in a dice roll mid roll if you rolled, immediately moved to the go button, and hit it as it was displaying inbetween results.
Overall, had a good bit of fun!!
Loved the idea and had a blast playing through it, although the #1 feature was the bartenders arm.
I'm starting to think that the hour I spent on the arm was worth more than the days spent on the dice!
Lesson for the next jam - all arm physics!
A charismatic barman you have here. Had fun with your game, thank you! Dice management is well-executed, and the straightforward process keeps you engaged. After we used the weight upgrade, that side never triggered. Does it mean that weight pulls it down, so the opposite side has a better chance? Or were we just unlucky :)
Just unlucky! The weighted side is 4x more likely to come up, but that's still up to chance...
The UI is pretty nice with its effects. The winning strategy for me was forgoing combos and designating each die a specific color, putting +2 bonuses on the 5 and 6 for whichever color needed a big number. Maybe combos could cause additional effects to make aiming for them more appealing. Cute and fun game!
Loved the alien arm following your cursor, what a nice touch! Very funny sound effects too! :)
Fun little game! I loved the goofy little alien dude. I would love to see more levels/challenges!
The audio was fun and fit the vibe without being too distracting, so nice get on the acapella wildcard. The drink effects make it feel a lot less random and that there is a vague strategy to it. More dice and combinations could be fun.
Nicely done. Has a small learning curve and a lot of potential. Funny idea with the alien arm. And the sound works.
The looooooooong alien arms are going to go somewhere into long term memory to be remembered at some random future moment. How did you code that might I ask? My main critique is that I didn't get to fully use the dice combos to their maximum potential, as the drinks were limited in use.
You should definitely use the wildcard "side effects included", as using some drinks can hurt future runs
The arms are actually very simple! It's just a few RigidBody2D objects connected by springs. The shoulder is fixed in place and the hand is attached to the mouse. They're connected with a Line2D object.
Something like this (but I didn't get the smoothing to work): https://www.reddit.com/r/godot/comments/1dlfve1/how_to_make_a_smooth_physicsbase...
This was a fun idea and well executed. Obviously the tentacle and sounds are amazing. Also the idea of the dice/color/upgrades combo was unique to me, really nice!
Fun little sounds lol
Well executed on the acapella wildcard! Those tentacle physics are amazing!
I was looking forward to it and its super unique (and yes the alien bartender was worth it)
loved it, gave me some cool balatro vibes
i very much enjoyed the game. i also like the items you implemented
Really liked the idea with the dice rolls and the possibility with the items. Can get quite complex to achieve the goals. Nice work!
