Wow, outstanding entry. Great production value, but most of all a very enjoyable and compact twist on racing games. It felt good to maneuver the trolley and I especially liked the 90° turns. Great sound design, so many nice tracks and fitting sounds. Everything felt very polished. It also feels like there's design space for more elements (e.g. a bonus for passing very close to other passengers without hitting them, like Crazy Taxi's "crazy through" bonus) , which is always intriguing. I must admit I had no idea what a "passport bro" is and i had to look it up. That's a quite unique premise.
Great work team, keep it up!
Thank you! I'm glad you had fun playing our little project! We had come very close to bringing something similar to a 'close encounter' mechanic into the game to incentivize players to make risky moves, but ultimately ran out of time to implement it.
When (or if) we update our game in the future, we'll definitely consider including something like it!
Absolutely, we all know the pain of killing our darlings in order to deliver!
Cheers
What a charming game! I loved the idea of racing through terminals as I think that's something we've all had to do at one point or another ahaha. Perhaps some moving enemies or different sized roadblocks (family with a stroller? running children?) would make it even more fun. Loved the dynamic camera as well, turning a tight corner always feels exhilarating!
Very fun idea, and twist on the car racing genre! The graphics are well polished and the musics on point. The controls are smooth and the fun spreads in the shop options. It's a very complete game, and well thought it seems. Well done !
Thank you!
An inherently hilarious premise made even better by top-tier text throughout. From being able to choose your racer to a good host of items in the gift shop, this is an impressive amount of mechanics. Your aesthetic is extremely stylish and cohesive, too, from the music to colours to fonts. I can totally see this being a beloved indie game like Overcooked. Keep going! #catchflightsnotfeelings
Thank you! We spent a while trying to balance things. Glad they're in a good state
Extremely polished and the UI was stunning.
Great take on the theme! The graphics are clean, the gameplay super smooth and gotta love that jazzy theme. The type of project that would most definitely need to be built upon later on :)
We plan on it!
Very cool and unique concept, great execution! I laughed so hard when I got to the suitcase select screen, I was not expecting that. Pink Unicorn for the win! The gameplay loop was pretty fun, especially after getting a few speed and handling power-ups. The controls felt really smooth, I was able to navigate the hordes of idiots quite nicely. Kudos to your art team, everything looks great and really comes together. There are so many good little touches like the trailing particles from the suitcase or the CRT on the credits screen. Fantastic!
Thank you! Our team definitely delivered
Now that's a unique take on the expedition theme :D The game reminded me of Revolt, an old and fun toy car based racing game. Great Submission :D
This was so fun! Brilliant mini game concept, I loved the different rolling suitcase profiles. The jazzy soundtrack really added to the vibe! If you extend it some city-specific graphics/objects would be awesome.
Great concept and nicely implemented! It was very satisfying to to wriggle through crowds of people while having the boost activated - the controls feel amazing! The music was on point too and I liked the boost effects.
This is a fantastic game, great job!
Took a minute to ramp up, and when it did, it was fantastic! Had a great time dodging on the harder levels and found it to be pretty balanced for a jam game! Usually rogue-lite jam games where you have tradeoffs between healing and stat bonuses end with the player always having to choose one or the other. With this one I found myself actually sitting for a moment and thinking about which item to buy. Very impressive!
Thanks for playing!! I'm glad my sleepless night balancing the game right before the deadline paid off lol
Loved the music on this one a lot, everything matched the tone of the game well from the more calming shop to the frantic jazz in the actual levels. Good amount of room to expand graphically even just adding a few random objects in the backgrounds could help each location stand out more than just a name. The flow of the game is great with the choice of upgrades allowing you to prioritize your method of play. Felt so much fun just weaving through the crowds at high speed in the later levels.
Great work with this one hope to see more in the future!
Thanks!! We definitely wanted to distinguish the locations more from each other (like cities having business people in suits and vacation spots having families in vacation wear) as well as backdrops that correspond but that was too out of scope xd.
I agree that our musicians did such an amazing job with the OST, I could listen to it on its own!
I'm glad it felt good to play!! I put a lot of effort refining the movement and difficulty!
what kind of guy goes to Frankfort to passport his bro? lol, nice game
Saw this on stream but of course had to give it a go myself. Great entry. Really got to heap loads of praise on the audio, it's absolutely fab. Also really loved the models for the items in the item shop, I can see a lot of effort has gone into those which really paid off in my opinion.
The game is smooth and a tonne of fun. Great job team :)
Thanks! I liked seeing and playing your game too
Really fun to play, love the vibes and it's very polished!!
There is an absolutely crazy amount of polish to this! The soundtrack, the descriptions for all the shop items, the way the luggage actually handles! I had a really good time!
It felt smooth to play, I don't think i ran into any bugs at all. Just a nice experience that felt very fleshed out for the time it was created in.
My favourite part was the models for the shop items, they felt very Risk of Rain 2 inspired to me, thought they looked fantastic.
Well done everyone involved!
Thanks so much!! I'm glad you had a good time playing it!
The items were definitely ror inspired, the teddy bears description even references it! I've played waaay too many hours of ror2 and ror returns lol.
we are so glad you recognize the items from ror2. even the lightweight hull is the hopoo feather haha
This game was a blast! Swerving through the crowds trying to get the best time was a lot of fun; I think the movement felt very responsive which is important for a game like this!
The music was nice and the visuals were great, very cohesive. Overall this was really great work, and serves as a great foundation for a full game.
The moment I started the game I fell in love with the menu and the music. The idea is great, the game is fun to play and the item descriptions are funny. Fantastic entry.
I would only suggest to slightly diversify the models of the characters as they all look almost identical.
I loved how the game was put together, the graphical quality was also very high and music on point. Would have liked more scaling in difficulty but I'm just impressed you had so many levels and navigation between them.
Man this was really fun. The delight on my face where after failing my first run, deciding to go with the Hot Rod and noticing it does leave a trail of fire, excellent.
The choice of difficulty levels on a per flight basis is great, it adds a little element of Push Your Luck into the whole journey, coupled with the upgrade system.
I did have to double check what a passport bro is and it certainly changes the context for what my guy is doing hopping on all these flights now XD
I spent way too long making the particles look good, I’m so glad it paid off!
