Great entry! Enjoyed the fun twist on the tomb-raider/Indiana Jones theme where you're the undead force protecting the artifacts. I love picturing just outside the tomb where there must be hundreds of Nathan Drakes just waiting for their turn to snatch the idol 😂
Gameplay-wise this was a lot of fun to keep trying for a better score. Best strategy seemed to be to focus on the idols at the back of the room. If you're looking for suggestions for future features, a wave system with different kinds of enemies would be cool :)
Thanks.
The original idea was more ambitious, but if there's one thing jams teach you is to compromise. My original idea had multiple levels with each level having a number of explorers (kind of like a wave system). Then it became a wave system and then, when the time was running out, it became an endless horde mode. I still intend to go back to it after the jam ends.
nice little game, i loved the graphics
Nicely done! The visuals were solid, as well as the audio.
As mentioned below, ramping up the difficulty more over time would have been nice, or some other kind of variation that would keep things interesting.
Regardless, great job!
Loved the art and we stan mummies stopping pillagers.
Nobody could come near the 2 treasures in the back! Good game
Incorrect wildcard, the Mummy is definitely the hero here, protecting these artifacts from all these British Museum goons. I really loved the visual style and lighting here, with the fantastic music it creates quite a vibe. Well done, great submission!
The art style and visuals are amazing. Also, I really liked the music and sound effects.
Great game!
The mummy is the HERO! I did my best to fight back all the pesky raiders, but eventually I was left with a single artifact that I defended bone and bandage. Great game!
A great little game. The idea is easy to understand and executed well.
The SFX and music were nice. Loved the retro/hand-painted style!
If anything, I would say adding a slight variation to the archaeologist's speeds would liven it up slightly, as once you get the rhythm they don't stand a chance.
Overall, fantastic submission.
Thanks!
Yes, the pattern of the archeologists are easy to spot. The balancing was done at the very end and right away I watched people just figure out a way to cheese them and play until they got bored. Increasing their speed with time and making it more varied would have caught people by surprise and allow the game to be not as cheese-able.
Again, thanks for playing and for your feedback.
A very nice and balanced game, simple and fun. I liked it a lot! Very good music and sfx!
Thanks a lot.
I still think I should've made an extra balancing pass, it was too hard right before submitting and then I changed and it became a little too predictable and grindy.
Well, it's as they say. In jams, it's better to lean more to the easy side so people can enjoy your game in the short time they have to dedicate to it.
Excellent entry! Solid arcade gameplay, great presentation. I liked the art a lot. Good job!
That was quite funny, nice sounds too. As someone stated already the footstep may benefit the game a lot
nice work anyway
I had a great time on this one. Solid and concise experience.
Would probably like to have enemies have footsteps.
Had a little hiccup with my unique PC setup, where my controller was detected while using mouse and keyboard. This happens with almost every game, so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Good fun, would love to see a bit more variation in enemies
I think it fits in the theme really well and I find it quite challenging. The only thing is that the controls feel a bit clumsy. But a really good experience overall
Super fun! I got about 14,000 as my final score, and I would love to see a high score board if you're doing post-jam work. :)
Fun and stylish! It was easy to figure out how to play without reading the instructions.
Seeing the title picture, I first thought “oh no, another horror game” (can’t stand them :D). But it was actually really fun playing as the horror element in the game, ha!
I found the difficulty juuuuust right! I liked the little "agh" from the raiders, they cracked me up. I also liked the low poly style and thought the texturing looked great!
Sounds and animations are soo satisfying and I found the difficulty curve JUST right for a first time player. Amazing!
Thank you!
Yeah it was very important to me to make the jam experience easy to get into. I see too many jam games get ignored because players might not have the attention span to try to figure things out when there are so many games to play.
Curly is that you???
I loved the sounds the ARHGS were on point. The gameplay started getting repetitive after a while especially because after a point it seemed the enemies came in the exact same order exactly the same. I would just run in the exact same pattern hitting the guys exactly the same. I wish there was some randomness and that the difficulty/number of guys kept getting harder. Very good entry though!
Thanks.
The sounds were taken from a CC0 pack and pitch shifted, but they reminded me so much of Quake that I had to use them.
Yeah, about the difficulty, unfortunately it was WAY harder until right before I submitted, then I did a quick rebalancing pass, because games that are too hard are usually a no no in jams. Moved the pedestals, made explorers slower, decreased the max number of simultaneous explorers and made so this number increases with time (every 30 seconds I add one more, up to 12). Every few seconds a door will try to spawn an explorer but it might fail, so the pattern might seem random but it really isn't as you noticed.
Anyway, plenty of lessons learned. One of the most important one was to learn to compromise, because I came very close to not submitting the game.
Again, thank you for playing.
