Nice work! Like others have said, some camera controls/being out more would be nice. I also think the terrain could have used flat areas up high to look around. I hit two bugs, I had plenty of room for more crystals but couldn’t pick up anymore, then I got flipped over on my back but B didn’t work so had to give up. Looking forward to giving it another go after some updates, keep it up!

Developer

Thank you!

Having a high flat areas or some kind of platforms is a good idea! Didn't think of that. Thanks again!

I had fun playing and driving around trying to catch all the items. I did have a moment though where I used "B" to return to base and my rover was catapulted across and through the map.

Thank you for playing my game!

Yes, will fix that behavior and add a few more updates in the upcoming update next week. So stay in touch!

I had an excellent time just driving around and offroading with the car.

I did feel like the camera could have been a little farther out, sometimes it would be hard to see what was above me on a hill.

Good:

-The car physics were good

-The particles were a nice touch

-environment was a cool shape

Improvement:

-tutorial screen automatically disappeared before I could finish reading

-no depth/texture on environment so it was easy to lose track of direction

-no ability to manually change view of the camera was frustrating as I had to move in order to look around

-there was a good direction as to what I was supposed to do, but no way to complete it other than wandering aimlessley around which wasn't very fun in my opinion.

Hopefully you can build on the  work you've already done and the feedback here for your future projects. Good luck!

Developer

Thank you for your feedback!

Yes, I agree - some kind of navigation is necessary for such game, still thinking of what it could be - minimap or something like crystals detector lights on rover.

Liked the atmosphere and the car physic. I do have some suggestion and some reports

- It's easy to  get lost, so a minimap would be so cool with the possibility to mark a spot also
- Add some mouse control to zoom out a bit, else when going up a hill all you see is the rover

I think I encountered a bug (?) once I gathered enough crystals I activated an obelisk, then tried to go back to the base with B but all glitched out and freezed.. (I'm on linux if that helps)

Anyway good entry, I liked the slow pace

Thank you for detailed feedback!

Got a good schedule for making things better!

- Yes, some people reported bug with returning to base, and also really didn't test it on Linux (only tested with Windows and Mac).

I enjoyed the visual style, and feel of driving around. I got 3 obelisks decoded, but then it stopped letting me pick up crystals even though I’m pretty sure I should have been able to.

I also found myself wanting some kind of other visible features to help orient myself, or at least more control of the camera. I also couldn’t get the ‘return to base’ feature working, at least not at the end.

Regardless, there’s a lot here that was done well, so nice job!

Thank you for detailed review! I really appreciate it!
After this jam is over, I will fix these issues and plan to continue working on this game.

the car is really fun to drive around but the environment doesn't have depth, the best way to get it is with volumetric fog and add a simple texture for the terrain

other then that, I know how hard it is to make working cars so I love that part of the game

Developer

Thanks for your ideas! Will add them in future updates as will have a bit more time on development. So keep updated!

I liked the art and the car felt floaty in a good way. I did end up getting rocketed to the ethos when I tried to return to base but nonetheless a pretty cool experience.

Developer

hah! thanks for your feedback! I believe you will return back on track.
