Roguelike blackjack
How does your game tie into the theme?
Expeditions are about knowing what you are getting yourself into, having the right tools, and knowing when to quit. Just like blackjack!

I love card games! I wish there was audio but as it stands, reminded me very much of blackjack. Nice!
Awesome idea and implementation. Took me a second to figure out the different items and power ups, but once I got a hold of it I was cranking. Nice game!
I can't run this on my Mac, it's blocked. I did the workaround but the game does not expand with the window size so I couldn't read anything. Game looks interesting and I was looking forward to playing because I also did a card game for this jam with a similar title :D Wish there was a browser export.
I was able to get seven expeditions. It gives balatro-esk vibes, and I think with a bit more refinement (more items to interact with different suits, numbers, etc; more expedition variety; and/or sound design) this could make a unique take on the roguelike genre. Maybe have metaprogression where you get to keep some of the gear you had on the last run?
I hope you do work on this a bit more. I had a blast.
A web build is also on the wishlist 👀
Well done, with an approachable theme and familiar rule set. I feel like I could get lost in a game like this for a long time.
The text on screen is a little small, and maximizing didn't adjust. Might want to check the setting under Project Settings / Display / Window / Stretch / Mode
Not a negative, but something to keep in mind. There's going to be obvious comparisons to Balatro. Most notably, the issues that Balatro had with getting ratings approved for various markets

Got sucked into this far more than I expected to at first (I like seeing big number go up I guess). The graphics are very smooth; the transitions and effects are all on point. After a couple of runs and tinkering about, I got a strat down that could go really far. Two ropes (or lil poops as I called them, endearingly), a spyglass, and some flowers and then just hunt for the 9 deck. Guaranteed a 16 draw after spying to ensure no mountain. I don't know what expedition I ended on but I think it could have gone forever. Really nice execution on the genre, the picking expeditions is a smart twist.
It took a few tries, but I made it to five successful expeditions!
I can't tell if it's buggy or if the game really doesn't have any audio.
Also, I'm not sure how the pickaxe item is useful. I used it to remove a mountain (which would be worth +10 if submitted), to gain +5 but the /16 limit still kept the +10 of the mountain in memory, causing me to bust on my next draw of a +8 card.
Nice! There is no audio, I didn't end up having time to add it in, and yeah I realized afterwards the pickaxe was broken. It was supposed to remove the score as well but obviously that doesn't happen.
