Really enjoyed it! The artwork is very good and the game felt very atmospheric.

Felt like the self checkpoint system was good, lets you push yourself and add a little extra challenge if you want too.

Nice job!

Thank you so much for your time playing my game and i'm glad you enjoyed it!! <3

This was an awesome platformer! I especially loved the art style. Progressing through the different levels of the Peak kept it refreshing and made you feel like you were consistently getting closer. The fact that it wasn't terribly long was perfect for this game, as well as the flag respawn mechanic. The experience is accessible and felt very smooth, while also presenting some challenging points throughout the expedition. Well done, Doxus!!

Thank you so much for your comment! I'm pretty happy for your words and i'm glad you enjoed the game!! <3

Great platformer, loved the flag mechanic. People are comparing with Celeste but I honestly got more Getting Over It or Jump King vibes with the way that the one big level is layed out :)

If I was to improve anything it would probably be the few moving platforms that you have to jump onto when they're just out of frame of the screen. Those jumps felt a bit unfair imo, but perhaps that's by design!

Love the music too. Great job dev!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for playing it and your feedback!

Yeah, I'm learning game dessign and I'm not quite good at all, but right now i don't know what platforms do you mean. Anyway, i must improve those things but thank you a lot for your words.

Well done! Cool platformer, very nice pixel art and animations, smooth controls! As some already mentioned, huge Celeste vibes =)

Developer

Always is a plessure when my game reminds of Celeste vibes <3

Pretty cool game! It was a well-executed platformer and the flag/ checkpoint mechanic made it really unique. Plus, the sounds and the graphics helped make the game feel super polished! Great game, well done!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing it!! <3

I'm glad that you liked the flag mechanic aswell :D

I don't usually like platformers, but this is extremely well executed. The movement is so snappy, which I feel like a lot of people making platformers miss the mark on. Solid coyote time and jumping!
I liked the decision making element needed for when to place down a flag too. I only ended up using two but nonetheless saved me from a lot of raging! Also as others mentioned, the art is great, I find that too often the pixel art doesn't suit the game style but you clearly know what you're doing here!

Developer

Thank you for playing my game and for the kind words!

I'm really glad that you like it despite you're not a platformer fan. I tried to put a lot of effort in the movement because I really like that in platformers games.

That's the goal about the flags mechanic, saving you from rage hahaha

Such a solid platformer. I loved the art and the music and that you managed to wrap the whole  game with  a story. Really nicely developed areas of the world with each section introducing a new mechanic and challenges.

Very clever idea with the flags as your own checkpoints. But I wish I could recover them, I used them all immediately because I didn't yet grasp what they were for.

Great entry!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for playing my game!

The first idea was to put a fog or a camp in some areas to recover the flags, but then i thought it's a tiny game and it's not gonna work so much, so i put 4 flags, one to use it if you want in the tutorial, and three for each one area in the game. But you can handle as you want. Could use an indicator that helps the player to know about how many distance is far from the final too.

But thank you for your kind words, really appreciate it <3

I panicked initially because I couldn't start the game, but then figured out "enter" worked. The game overall was really fun to play. The graphics and music combination were great.

Developer

Yeah, I'm sry about that. I could put in the text "Press enter to start" or something like that. You're not the first one that told me that.

Thank you for your time playing my game!!

A very atmospheric and touching game, inspired by Celeste. The climbing mechanics turned out to be really engaging, even though the character only has a jump—great game design!

Developer

Thank you so much for your words! I'm glad you really like it despite it's a basic platformer <3

I love the atmosphere of the game—the graphics, the music—it reminded me of Celeste.

Developer

Thank you so much for your comment, it's a privilege for me if this game reminded you of Celeste :D

This game looked and felt so great, but I'm so bad at platformers. Really nice job on execution, the game felt very cohesive.

Thank you so much for playing it and i'm really happy that you like it!

Bravo. I was very impressed.

*Length of the game was perfect

*Controls felt really good

*Enough challenge to keep it interesting

*Music was calming

* Art and graphics were charming

Some  comments:

* Intro sequence felt a little drawn out, would have been nice to be able to speed up or skip

* I somehow lost the ability to place flags, but it didn't really affect the game because there were enough platforms for me to land on if I fell.

* The ending felt like it came out of nowhere. If you wanted to have a dramatic and meaningful ending, it would have worked better by preparing the audience through some earlier story beat or some such. As it was it just made me uncomfortable.

Overall, very nice game. One of the best I've played this jam.

Developer

It's really nice to read your comment, I really appreciate it.

Yeah, i think the intro could be faster or skipeable, but then i thought, it's a jam game and my game lasts 5-10min and you not gonna play it again because has 0 replayability, but it's a good point.

I don't know how you lost the ability to plant flags but they are not really necessary if you have a bit of patience and skill, but i'm really sorry about that.

With the ending i wanted to do a plot twist, the only info you have it's that you must to climb this mountaint but you don't know why, then because the game is so short maybe the ending it's a bit weird. But i think it's good for me if you feel uncomfortable, it's a valid feeling when you end.

I really appreciate your time to play and give some feedback, i'm trying to learn a lot of gamedev and this helps me so much!

The start button doesn't work, you have to press enter.
I really like the celeste vibe, especially in the music. The controls feel super polished, and are really good to play. My only hang up with the controls, was on the bouncy platforms where you have to time the jump so precisely. I like the style of the platforms and background art, though I feel like the character art doesn't fit the rest.

The idea of limiting your flags for the whole run doesn't work super well, unless we have some sense for how far the flags need to last. However, the game was short and easy enough that I only needed to use 2 of them. I expected that I would need to save them for later.
I would probably have some theological issues with the stories end, but it was vague enough to leave room for doubt.

Good entry, great atmosphere.

Developer

Thank you so much for playing my game!

First of all, yeah, the start button doesn't work because it's not a button. You have to press enter, maybe i could use a button or add "Press enter to start" in the text.

I really love the bouncy platform, for me it is my favorite part but maybe i could check some values to make them feel better.

Maybe doesn't fit the character because it's from another pack of assets, but i really like it.

The flag mechanic, yeah, doesn't make any sense if the player doesn't know how far is from the final, could add some indicator that helps the player to know about how many distance is far from the final.

Really appreciate your time and feedback!

As someone stated already nicely polished work. I like when people puts effort in narrating the story, and you're doing that quite good.

I enjoyed playing it and hoped there was more to it, used only a flag throughout the game :o

Congrats for the entry!

It is a crime to see this game not getting the recognition it deserves, one of the most polished game I have played in this jam. The art is well done, the songs are beautiful and most importantly the control is really satisfying to play with. I am not sure if this is your first platformer or not but it does gave off a vibe of someone who knows the genre really well. Also, cherry on top, I think the tutorial section of the game is intuitive and opening narrative sequence is intriguing. Definitely one of my favorite game for the jam. I will try to finish it later but I suck at platformer lol.

On another note, please change the cover art, it is hiding the beautiful game underneath and changing to an in game art will attract more player to the game.

Developer(+1)

I'm thinking about that, because it is so sad to see that maybe the players they are not trying it :(

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!!! That message really made me so happy <3

It is my first platformer yeah, but i played a lot. I got inspired from Hollow Knight, Jump King, Undertale and some more.

Incredibly cute and charming. I'm so impressed with how polished this is!

Great platforming mechanics and atmosphere.

I used both my flags early but it made the end of the game more interesting :)

Developer

Thank you for your time playing it!

That's the point, you have to administrate your flags for all the run but you made it!
