Liz felt like an unstoppable force of nature. It was very satisfying zooming around everywhere even without using the power, which I only used because it looked so cool. I only which where was something sturdy enough to absolutely bully with it. I didn't really notice the dialogue playing at first since it was kind of out of the way.
It's got the ground work laid out, and is pretty easy and simple.
Didn't use my ability that much as I didn't really ever feel like I needed to, but it seemed cool. I can definitely see this sort of game going really well, especially if there was an ability to switch between nerissa and elizabeth.
Good entry.
I can really see this turn into a fun adventure game! Good sounds, nice environment and models and the time-stop ability combine with attack is very anime! Found it super adorable how you have to stay close to Nerissa to help your health and stamina! My only comment right now is the dialog is going a tad too fast, that sometimes I didn't notice it pass by, I want to read their teetee interaction! That said, good polish game, Great job!
Very well done action game! Very fun!
The slow down ability feels so satisfying when used near a large number of enemies. You just go zap zap zap and boom they're down!
The chatting on the side is so cute. I think I missed some lines while I was focused in the fighting but it was a nice touch.
The game is also well polished! Very nice work!
I think the only addition I'd suggest is a small tutorial screen showing at the start the controls and the crystals you're supposed to break to open the way out.
Great game!
Visually, everything worked together really well. You can distinguish objects easily and the UI is also simple and functional. The only exceptions were the objective and how to heal, which were both found out by coincidence.
Moving via the mouse was a little painful as I couldn't easily stop my character or turn quickly, it worked smoothly and without bugs but I'd personally prefer the control of WASD while pointing attacks with the mouse. The time slow mechanic was neat but freezing the camera in place felt bad.
Enemies and projectiles functioned well except some attacks would travel from far off screen. Having enemies disable when they're a certain distance away would work well here.
The banter on the side of the screen was nice and overall the game had a very comfy and wholesome vibe to it.
*Super* adorable game, loved the assets and how put together everything was. There's a lot of polish here, the UI is pretty easy to read, all the little dialogue in the corner is so cute, although I will say I did feel there was a lack of direction on what I was supposed to doing while playing. The controls were a bit of a jumpscare (didn't read the description until I started playing...), but I got used to them quick. To be honest, I found myself not using the stasis ability very often? I definitely see its use, but if an enemy was on screen, they'd usually be dead before I really needed to use it, and since the stasis stops the camera, it's not very helpful for avoiding existing enemy attacks. Definitely can see its uses, but I felt the enemies were easy enough to defeat without it. Nevertheless, I *did* figure out what I was supposed to be doing once I saw the crystals, so not really much of a problem.
Ultimately, love the game! It's cute and charming, and it feels great to play. Lots of little effects like the hearts when you heal from Nerissa, and just the right amount of screen shake from attacking really added a lot, and I had a fun time.
The movement and combat, much like the dialogue, was extremely smooth and satisfying. The in game comms that don't interrupt gameplay reminded me a lot of the charming Starfox 64 quips. I had no clue that staying near Nerissa heals you, which made completing the game a lot harder. I just stood near the bottom of the map so that more enemies would spawn above me in my field of vision, making them easier to farm.
There is an absurd amount of homoerotic tension in this game. I had no clue how to finish the game for like 3 extra minutes
I have to commend you on the incredible job you did in capturing the cheeky flirtation between ERB and Nerissa. It was spot on and was a nice touch to add flavour to the gameplay.
The gameplay itself was also pretty fun. It's pretty repetitive, but the increasing number of enemies and having to look for the crystals gave it enough of a challenge that it didn't feel stale at all. Dashing around felt really good, especially with the slow mo ability on. The game doesn't explain anything, but I figured out that sticking to Nerissa heals you, and hearts fly out of her when you do that which I thought was freakin' cute.
I found a bit of terrain you can climb on top of that I think is high enough for the enemy shots to not hit, which might be an exploit, but also really helpful for when I accidentally run out of stamina and need a few moments to let it recharge.
I think I share the sentiment with others in the comments that I wish this was longer XD Of course it would need to be further fleshed out as a longer experience but as it is now, for the purposes of a jam, it's pretty damn good.
Amazing work, and congrats on the submission!! :D
Edit: I replayed it a bit again because it's way too fun dashing around.
GOD THEIR PLAYFUL BANTER IS GIVING ME LIFE.
As a guy, people tend to doubt my reasons for loving yuri,
but I just really like seeing women happy.
clean graphics, animations, controls, everything! only issue i had is that the mechanics or objectives aren't really explained (they are easy to grasp tho) . very fun!
Very nice game. Would be amazing if there was instructions that fade away when the level starts.
Cute game! I just wish it was harder; at no point was I ever close to running out of any resource, and I could mostly just ignore the enemies.
Running and slicing around with Liz is really satisfying.
i think it is really good, it has a lot of polish, buildings dithering so i could see behind them was a nice surprise.
great use of 3rd party assets. Loved the convos. Nerissa for sure lays eggs but shes just embarrassed.
if you are beside nerissa you are immortal. maybe scroll the water texture so it doesnt look static?
GGs
Super fun to fly around with time stop. Loved the banter between them in the corner!
