Really solid entry, specially for solo a solo project!

I'm not sure how it works on Unity but I think it'd be nice for the visuals if the resolution of the 3D models were lower, I feel it would go well with the visual direction you built!

For JUSTICE! I have quite a great time crawling the dungeon! Combat is simple but I like how I can seems to maneuver and strafe  the side while swinging, the upgrades are a nice additions (My fav is the Reach, I love how the swords just grow in size!). The models and art styles are quite simplistic, in a good retro way!

Overall, this is a fantastic work with good fun combat, great job!

The combat, albeit simple, was very satisfying. Knockback and reach probably...need a nerf since they kinda solve combat entirely. I dumped every upgrade into that and basically bullied poor rissa with my big ol lollipop. I think you have the foundation of some interesting mechanics by rolling enemies around. You could definitely build upon that both with enemy variety and even puzzles if you're daring. I kinda liked how weighty liz felt but maybe thats just my enjoyment of slow dark souls characters speaking. If the game is intended to be a bullet hell, that could also be a valuable upgrade vector (speed and/or acceleration).

Finished it!! It was so short but sweet! I really enjoyed the music and the gameplay. I laughed whenever I saw a jailbird rolling past me. Would have liked to see more skills on Liz but it's already amazing for a solo project. It was awesome!

Had a lot of fun with this one! The models and music were great. Gameplay generally felt good, I do wish the movement felt a little tighter, particularly when there are a lot of projectiles on screen to dodge, but I was able to slash through those which was nice. Really impressive to have done all of this on your own. Great work!

YAYYYYY I did it, it WAS a skill issue though hahaha

I adore the game!!! I like the polygon style and the interactions between Rissa and Liz

I couldn't get past the boss fight, but reading the comments, I think it was a skill issue + choosing the wrong skill to upgrade hahha let's see if I can win now

I had a great time playing! At first I felt like the movement was sluggish, but I got used to it and closely dodging all the projectiles while swinging a max-upgraded Thorn felt very satisfying. This is yet another work of art that keeps me thinking about Liz with a propeller hat and lollipop.

Bigger... bigger... bigger... BIGGER. XD

Such a fun game! I enjoyed playing this very much and you did all this solo? I kneel.

I liked the simple but recognizable 3d models, the cosmetic outfit you included there, the storyline and dialogues, the combat and the upgrade system. Oh and your song choices were great too! Awesome work!

I think the only improvement suggestion would be to give the range upgrade a downside, so it balances out. Maybe make the attack slower since the weapon is bigger and heavier?

Very good game!

Rampaging with a maxed upgrade sword is fun! I wish there were move levels.

Its absolutely insane that you put all this together by yourself, and it's still this well made - maximum aura farming.

This is such a strong entry, I understand why it has the most ratings (as of writing this).

Combat feels good, though I would say maybe reduce movement speed or otherwise hinder the player when charging your attack, because there's no real trade off not to use charged attacks when they do more damage, and knock enemies back long enough for you to charge another one.

But I love the launching mechanic, allowing you to bowl jailbirds over, the dialogue and diary pages were expertly written, the optional cosmetic and dialogue interaction when you fight her wearing it is amazing.

So much going well here, I really do hope this lives on past the bounds of the jam, because you are absolutely cooking! Thanks for submitting!

Really nice job! Crazy you did all the tasks by yourself, I'm impressed. Range is busted busted but really fun.

Submitted(+1)

Range + knockback upgrade definetly feels overpowered xD Especially as it stunlocks any enemy as long as you throw them into a corner. Might be goot to give nerissa either stun and/or knockback resistance otherwise she got cheesed into a corner and couldnt do anything anymore xD

Otherwise really fun game and love the cosmetic xD

We must lay the witch! ... i mean um, in the name of justice i will purge all evil! Great game! I had a lot of fun hacking and slashing.

...something more through? well , i got nothing but...

Here's is this diary page i found.

"My name is Elizabeth rose bloodflame. I siege this ruined land to run out the delightful devilish witch has been driving people mad with her voice, i have come to put a stop to her fetching foolish  ways

As i progressed though the dungeon, i found myself getting stronger, my resolve tampering me like a fine blade. It also soothed my aches, so as long as i didn't get too reckless in a fight, i would  persevere.  I could  focus my anger, my thirst for righteous justice. But it is true what they say, a quest of revenge begs 2 graves, so i  focused on  focusing my power though my blade, and   increasing its  size and warding abilities. Those blasted yet deceptively cute birds shall plague me with their  spells no longer!

They have deemed to call my blade, the surname of 'Hawk'. Not its name, but i find its charm. Stings like  talons of a hawk, and just as persistent.  I don't know who this 'Mike' is however. According to the birds this Mr. Hawk was a large individual. Strange, but i mustn't dally on this. I will slay these  monsters with the added power of Sir Hawk Mike!

Then the encounter. I finally caught up with her. Beautiful beastly blasted demon. I admit, I could not help but feel a twinge of pity, she never wanted this. But, it is the nature of knights and monsters to clash. And clash we shall- STOP BLOCKING MY VIEW OF THE LOVELY LADY YOU BIRDS!... I mean... Stand down evil doers! Justice shall be swift and through.

I continued my assault. and my assault i mean  smacked all the monster from the other side of the room with my The Hawk of Sir Mike. Yet, it didn't seem fair though. The demon, perhaps she could be persuaded? at least, i wanted to look her in the eye as i finished her. I got close, and kept hitting her , hoping i might knock some sense into her with close contact, but nay. in my burning heart, i knew what had to be done. I ended it, and freed the land once more. It was a victory, yet it felt hollow. I wish things could be different, but allas, they are not.

Oh well, I take my leave. Have felled the Demon, with the Hawk of Mike.

End diary entry.

"

...My team is right i really should stop writing past midnight.

Max size was definitely the way to go! Not sure if it was intended but at max upgrade I could just spam attacks and it would break projectiles and permanently stagger all enemies so boss could be cheesed by just spamming attacks in the corner. Super fun concept and amazing models and animation!

Submitted(+1)

loved this, maxed out the knockback + size upgrade and nuked the entire map with the giant sized lollipop (loved the cosmetic addition lmao)

combat felt quite fun to go around, maybe it wasn't as difficult in my case since i went with the knockback in this case throwing the entire room around, but as soon as projectiles start swarming around i see it being problematic, but its still quite nice. the upgrade system was a really cool touch and also incentivizes exploring the areas which always is amazing

i feel the bossfight could use some anti-stagger at some point so you cant cheese it by throwing birds at it, but it was still a simple and fun fight (loved the extra dialogue on fight start)

amazing game!

Amazing!

Another great action game after last one!
Pros:
1. Attacks feel impactful, especially when swing towards a ton of enemies.

2. Like the cg/upgrade/model animation

Cons:

1. Will it be better if there is a dodge or defend or something, it seems like you can only move to dodge and left click to attack, limited player engagement with the enemies

Loved it!
