Oh that was really really shorter than I expected, I kind of wish there was more but this being made in the Unity engine I dunno how hard that is to code, I've seen other VNs in the past use Unity but I don't know what to say about that, the romance was cute but making me want more some like buildup or yearning, felt it was too fast for me, and I didn't get to feel the sad desperation of the character much as a buildup like I jumped into the middle, something about those bugged me, I really like the art though the use of 3D models and 2D sprites are done pretty ok, but damn does it lag on my laptop

Some other thoughts while reading:
Beefnt stew, tobisco sauce
I wonder if in that early scene of the MC screaming in frustration the music could've cut off for more shift in feeling
Oh that's a woah ok, I maybe wish I had felt more of how the MC has been loving Herman maybe other than in words? Because I felt like I had intrude on them a lil, even if they are quite cute

This was a nice short experience that has a cute wolf and does the doomed sci-fi vibe pretty well. I like the interactions between the two characters, and the backstory is pretty cool. The main issue I have isn't that it's short; I like short VNs. It's that it feels short. I feel like we don't know much about the characters and world to really feel for the characters and their situation, and for it to hit hard for us. Still, I like it for what it is.

I would love to see this narrative expanded just a bit more, but what you managed to complete was very well done.  I would like to see just a bit more world building if you want to keep it short, or could see it as a spinoff to a larger story about what happened before the current circumstances.

A bit let down that it was too short. I wish we had some flashbacks about their past relationship or more descriptions on that. It would definitely make their impending doom a lot more impactful and bittersweet. Despite that, I like the story you’re trying to tell, of the indomitable human spirit in face of certain death. I’d love it if we can delve more into this.

I enjoyed what you’ve made. Thanks for this.

Ahh I'm blue balled so hard. I was really digging this story. The artwork, premise, and storytelling are great, and Herman is so incredible in terms of appearance and personality. We're obviously very constrained by time here, but I really enjoyed the love at the end of the universe plot and would love to see an expanded version in the future. It felt like the story was just beginning, and it's got a lot of potential.

Some praise first: Herman's character design is excellent, just nice to look at in general, and the colors are a perfect match for the relatively grimy tone of the story. Apart from that, though, the presentation feels really messy; the sprite has visible border artifacts and doesn't really fit in with the 3D backgrounds, and the Naninovel default UI is very much out of place.

It's not impossible to tell a compelling story in 2.5k words, but this one maybe borders on too stripped down to really accomplish a lot? The ostensible emotional core is the relationship between these two characters, but the scene between them is very short and ends so abruptly – to provide context, the writing has to fill in pieces of the backstory via the narration, which just isn't all that exciting to read. What we're reading just kind of feels like a climax without setup.

This has a nice atmosphere, good writing and promising characters. But there’s just not much to it. It’s like we’ve got the setup and the ending without anything in-between. The backgrounds are nice, and the sprite works (but what’s that weird effect he’s got when we tell him to wait? That was weird). The music is very quiet, too quiet. Overall, it’s intersting but it really wants more to it.

Love the set up but... I wanted more on either end! Either let me see Seb slowly go crazy, or LET US FUCK THE WOLF!!!!

I'll be honest I'm not sure why this game is in Unity, it just makes it slightly more difficult to play, since trying to do visual novel format in unity makes things get janky, and break, especially if you try scrolling the text back. There's not a lot to critique here, short and sweet, which is the main problem. I do love the set up, I know people tend to complain about lore dumps, but I didn't have a problem.

Also Kerche/City of Sneps stole my "Your hole or the black hole" joke so I won't make it here, but that was me!!!! I was the author of that line!!!!!!!!

This one's kinda tricky. I love what's there, but I also feel a bit narratively blue balled. You have a cool premise and the actions and interactions for both Seb and Herman feel well-written and believable, but it kinda just ends as soon as it's starting to get going.

Breaking down by criterion, spoilers from this point forward.

Implementation of Theme:

No complaints here. Hopelessly dire situation, but your wolf crewmate has been giving you the spark to keep going over the indeterminate time in isolation. Works for me.

Story:

Like I said in the top line, the biggest issue for me is just that it ends so abruptly. I love the glimpses that we get to see into the characters' lives on the station, with the resource conservation, MREs, etc., and the rapport between Seb and Herman sounds great, but there's just not quite enough interaction between them to let that relationship (both in a friendly, professional sense leading up to current events and the more romantic/sexual way that later develops) flourish, which is a bit disappointing for what is ostensibly the central theme of the narrative. Right now all we really have is chatting over breakfast, a confession, and the beginnings of a hookup, which all convey that Herman is friendly and caring and all, but we just don't get much more than that and I wish we did.

Other comment I have here is that I'm not sure the opening text was actually necessary. That was a lot of information to dump at once and I think you could have effectively conveyed everything that you needed to (big scary black hole killed everyone, you're in an outpost on the edge of space and you're running out of supplies) just through Seb's internal narration or conversations between him and Herman. I actually think you kind of already do.

Presentation:

Presentation was good here. I liked the sprites for Herman and I think the backgrounds were good as well. Music was fitting enough, I think there was only the one track but the VN was so short it didn't get repetitive or anything.

I actually really liked the notifications in the corner of the screen. Like, the station is deteriorating but the protagonist and by extension the player is focused on Herman and only half-paying attention to the warnings. I thought this was going to go somewhere a bit more concrete with the warnings continuing to get more and more serious as Seb and Herman's tryst continued, but what's there is fine.

Not a negative or a knock really, but I'm not sure why this was done in Unity and not Renpy though. Seems like the latter would be easier for a kinetic novel with 2D assets.

Creativity:

There are... quite a few "love at the end of the world" projects in the jam, apparently, but this one does stand out by being in space and all. It's a really fun and interesting premise, and, as stated above, I really just wish we got the opportunity to see more of it. That said, I also know it's a jam so maybe there wasn't enough time to turn dreams into reality. Hope to see more from you, maybe with some more time to cook and deliver a more in-depth project.

Very unrealistic how the MC managed to keep himself from fucking the fluffy wolf.

Jokes aside, the haunting vibe is portrayed well. Love the aesthetic and the choice of the BGM. The sci-fi flavor was just enough to serve as the foundation without causing any confusion often happens in the genre (mainly from using foreign terms / jargons). But I do think it's a tad bit too short. You could explore more sides like MC's descent to hopelessness or Herman's PoV.

Overall, it's a nice quick read!

'Gravitats' is a haunting story about the last two beings at the end of the universe. There's something about 'survivor' stories that manages to pull at the heart strings, because even in the face of oblivion, what's most important for a puny organism's life is sometimes what's in front of them. This story does well to set up just how dire and hopeless the scenario is. The way that the set up text reads like a diary or a technician's log is great for immersing into the setting. The use of unity and 3d models gives it it's scifi feel that makes it stand out against other visual novels that more regularly use 2D illustrations.

The setting and atmosphere is so good, that it feels like this story isn't really about the characters. It definitely left me wanting more interactions between the two characters that spanned the length of their time together, maybe in a series of 'daily logs' that happen throughout the eight cycles that these two have had together at this outpost. It's interesting cause there's a lot of details put into the backstory of this world. This is one of those stories that has such a good foundation, that you could really chew through a lot more story if you wanted.

Thematically, I feel this does a really good job of meeting the 'light in the dark' theme, since the void of space is a really dark 'dark', and the wolf crew mate is literally the last good thing you have going for you. I partially wish there was more of payoff or resolution for the story, either in committing fully to the sex scene, or to actually reach the end of the universe as their ship finally gets pulled into the void. Overall, this was a really immersive setting with a really cute interaction between the two characters that wants to have a lot more story to it.

Spoiler Alert!

A short but rather interesting story with more focus on the characters, though there wasn’t a lot of time to let the character really shine. Especially not with the wolf only appearing slightly under halfway in (he’s really handsome though :3). For what little was the time they spent together, I thoroughly enjoyed it.

I love the main menu screen and the wolf is so skrunkly I need to do unholy (/j) things with him. The ambiance in the menu screen really drives home the theme of the plot. I find it funny that the sound is displayed through a screen instead of actually being played, and for the later two sounds, it might be better that way. Focusing on characters over their circumstances was really refreshing, and I loved it.

Love in the end times is likely this story’s interpretation of ‘light in the dark’ and I’m all for it <3

P.S So like…if I become a space technician do I get assigned a hot wolf too 🥺

Short and sweet <3

Sci-Fi setting was spot on. Gave more Soma/Expanse rather than Star Trek. I think having more tracks would have def helped. The use of 3d assets sold the space vibe and the title screen models were spot on. I liked the read, but having more time to see them through their 8 years would have been nice. Glad that it focused them and not really caring about the why of the apocalypse. Space can be harsh. FURRYS!!! IN!!! SPAAAAACCEE!!!

What a cool setting and Herman is a cute character.

Very cute, despite the end-times business going on. The use of 3D assets and the handsome wolf sprite both gave the VN a unique and attractive appeal. It might be a standard "world's ending, let's fuck" story but the sci-fi flavor added that extra layer of intrigue. One big question I do have though, not that it's an important one, is: why did they take so long to confess?! You'd think in those 8 years of apocalypse they'd be fucking like rabbits every day. But, better late than never I guess and it was still sweet in the end.

Developer(+3)

there was going to be a section of slow build up where they get to know one another over the years as they grapple with the finality, but it had to be cut for time unfortunately.

Thank you!

A deeply dark and terrifying scenario.

I enjoyed the world building of the settings and peripheral details like that of the MRE and its contents--never really considered that the 'treats' were their own light in the darkness.

The story can use a stronger inciting incident to cause the characters to break out of their established ways. I think there's a lot that can be done with the premise that can pull several components together. I do really enjoy framing falling into each other like being their own kind of gravity.
