This one's kinda tricky. I love what's there, but I also feel a bit narratively blue balled. You have a cool premise and the actions and interactions for both Seb and Herman feel well-written and believable, but it kinda just ends as soon as it's starting to get going.
Breaking down by criterion, spoilers from this point forward.
Implementation of Theme:
No complaints here. Hopelessly dire situation, but your wolf crewmate has been giving you the spark to keep going over the indeterminate time in isolation. Works for me.
Story:
Like I said in the top line, the biggest issue for me is just that it ends so abruptly. I love the glimpses that we get to see into the characters' lives on the station, with the resource conservation, MREs, etc., and the rapport between Seb and Herman sounds great, but there's just not quite enough interaction between them to let that relationship (both in a friendly, professional sense leading up to current events and the more romantic/sexual way that later develops) flourish, which is a bit disappointing for what is ostensibly the central theme of the narrative. Right now all we really have is chatting over breakfast, a confession, and the beginnings of a hookup, which all convey that Herman is friendly and caring and all, but we just don't get much more than that and I wish we did.
Other comment I have here is that I'm not sure the opening text was actually necessary. That was a lot of information to dump at once and I think you could have effectively conveyed everything that you needed to (big scary black hole killed everyone, you're in an outpost on the edge of space and you're running out of supplies) just through Seb's internal narration or conversations between him and Herman. I actually think you kind of already do.
Presentation:
Presentation was good here. I liked the sprites for Herman and I think the backgrounds were good as well. Music was fitting enough, I think there was only the one track but the VN was so short it didn't get repetitive or anything.
I actually really liked the notifications in the corner of the screen. Like, the station is deteriorating but the protagonist and by extension the player is focused on Herman and only half-paying attention to the warnings. I thought this was going to go somewhere a bit more concrete with the warnings continuing to get more and more serious as Seb and Herman's tryst continued, but what's there is fine.
Not a negative or a knock really, but I'm not sure why this was done in Unity and not Renpy though. Seems like the latter would be easier for a kinetic novel with 2D assets.
Creativity:
There are... quite a few "love at the end of the world" projects in the jam, apparently, but this one does stand out by being in space and all. It's a really fun and interesting premise, and, as stated above, I really just wish we got the opportunity to see more of it. That said, I also know it's a jam so maybe there wasn't enough time to turn dreams into reality. Hope to see more from you, maybe with some more time to cook and deliver a more in-depth project.
