Really creative way to add abilities to a traditional minesweeper game, and each character feels different enough to keep each stage fresh. I really like the tradeoff of not providing the exact number of mines that are above 3 to balance the abilities out. Game looks clean and polished.

Good job! Thanks for participating!

Unlike My other team member I consider myself fairly good at mine sweeper.  And I loved playing this, even on my phone, despite the games here but being designed for Mobile.

The music is beautiful, the art is pretty, and the characters mechanics work to make this just a nice, p pleasant game to slowly work down like a sudoku puzzle over tea. The abilities help when your confused with the last few spots

Anyhow, I do have the same complaint others have, that the contrast between mines and not mines, especially as you clear more of the screen to show the picture, kind of blurred. I heard that you changed the !!! To !?.  I'd love to check the game when it's given a few updates.  If possible, I'd love to play a mobile version, but I understand That's asking a lot. Still, nice game, world love to play more in my own time once tweeked a bit

Wow. Minesweeper with a twist!

What a painful way to hit the jam theme. Those pictures that are revealed as the puzzle is solved really made me emotional. ;_;

The music choices were great. The unique abilities from each talent are useful and differentiate the game from a regular minesweeper. Good job there.

I have to admit I didn't read the "at least 3" hint in the page and only noticed it after I cleared one level. Thanks IRyS for the extra lives. Oh I also forgot she had a special ability and only used it the second time I chose her (in the final level). XD

Some improvement suggestions:

- The X icon and the !!! (3) icon are both red, which reduces readability. Try changing the X to purple or yellow to make them more unique. During my playthrough I confused the !!! with an X a couple of times and it cost me some lives.

- Include the explanation about the !!! marker in the game, maybe with an example image to make it clear to the player this is not the same "3" as a regular minesweeper.

- Small bug: The help text background disappears if you hover over different elements on the left too fast. It's most likely caused by the "hide" animation from the mouse exit that keeps playing simultaneously as the "show" animation from the following mouse enter. Make sure you stop any previous animation before playing a new one.

Good game!

I've fixed the tooltip fade bug and changed the sprite for the !!! to a !?, I'll update it once the review period ends. Thanks for the suggestions! Thanks for playing!

Head exploded, not a minesweeper guy but manage to finish with alot of time. I like the idea of each members has their own ability to help solve the minefield. But the 'at least 3' hint ones is probably my nemesis in the session...

The pictures is reward is both heartwarming and painful, overall, Good job with the game!

head hort, really liked the mood of the game and how you approached the minesweeper idea, felt like the abilities really fit each character

the only thing i'd probably fiddle with is the visibility or contrast of the game elements (vs background too) during the levels, there were some points during level 3 for example where i couldn't easily discern what was a X or a !!! or a blank space since they sometimes merge with the background

but overall it was a really nice and chill experience, good choice on the music and sounds too

Cool take on Minesweeper, was interesting to see the abilities balanced by having to save them for the increased cases where you'd have to guess due to the 3+!!!.

I am unfortunately not a Minesweeper gamer, this game risks wrinkling my brain too much, so I couldn't see the final stage, but I really like the take.

Each holomem feels unique, but their abilities all make sense and fit their character.

I'd definitely put some more time into this, if not just to learn how to play, while working towards that final level.

Can't give much more feedback than that cause I just ain't built for these games yet - regardless, thanks for submitting, and good work!

Try opening up the edges first; unlike standard minesweeper, the edges are always safe.

Then, you can take your time to figure out the mine placements, since there's no time limit or anything :)

Yeah, I really liked that the edges were safe (wasn't sure if that was standard in MS, so I appreciate that) so those were always my first choice. When it came to the 1 marked spaces, all bets were off and I was just kinda winging it lmao.

Definitely gonna keep trying to learn though - I need to see that final level!

Definetly needs some thinking but in the end its really fun (and traumatising after seeing the final pictures...)

Baes power definetly feels the strongest especially if you keep it until the very end where its difficult for some tiles cause they either are bombs or triple exclamation marks since they are sometimes all at one place which is making it into a 50/50 scenario. all because 3 marks mean its 3 OR MORE and that really makes a difference xD

but as I said baes power is definetly really nice to use especially her passive which just feels broken in general.

Pretty well balanced minesweeper. Had fun playing through and remembering all of Council-rys. The passive ability for Bae feels overpowered at first, but it seems to always give the most useless random tile. Or maybe I'm just unlucky.

The markers don't go beyond 3, so it gets a little confusing when there are 4 or more mines nearby.

Developer

Yes, that was intended to make it slightly more difficult to balance the abilities. I highlighted that in the "how to play" part, but in hindsight I should have used a different sprite (which I've prepared but can't upload now)
