I would never tire of these kinds of tabletop fantasy-esque stories. This one is a very merry read, and I really love the art style. I've only seen some of your other art, so I'm happy to know that you're a great writer too! I can't wait to see what else you cook up, whether it's a continuation of this questline or if other stories call for you.

I would have loved a reveal at the end of it that the "life giving fluid" was only intended to be water, and that the result of using their substitute caused a massive orgy among all the wolves once the lifeforce returned, but all kidding aside, I really liked this entry.  Interweaving porn with plot can be rather tricky, and there was a bit of a sudden escalation toward the end of the vn, however it feels like you intend to continue the story, in which case it will probably begin to feel a bit more balanced.  Great showing! 😊

That’s quite a fun read! It’s just something you’d expect from a DnD adventure tale. The story and presentation are nice. Obviously, it’s not flawless. Some parts might feel a bit too blunt, but that’s the risk with this kind of genre: it needs a lot of visuals to deliver the vision better, but it’s way less feasible than just writing. There might be too many ideas packed in here, but it’s not that bad. Not if you approach it expecting some giggles. By the end of it, I kinda wished there were more. Well done!

It's a bit cheesy, but a perfectly competent fantasy adventure. Funnily enough, my favorite part of this was the MC. He's a bit hardheaded despite being a cleric, but I always like MCs that can stand up for themselves. He's especially helpful during fights too. With a MC this confident and capable (a rarity for FVNs!), it makes it easy to root for his personal growth on this story. The writing could be better though, to be honest. There were several flaws that immediately stood out to me, such as odd tenses and unnatural dialogue. The characters also have the tendency to explain themselves a bit bluntly, leading to a "tell, not show" problem that doesn't build up enough intrigue or suspense. Still, mainly thanks to the detailed backgrounds and likeable sprites, this VN stands out as an in-depth fantasy tale with enough thought put into its worldbuilding. It's easy to get absorbed into the story from start to finish. Not bad at all, honestly. It's also a novel take on the jam's theme, since Luthyr himself is the light in the dark, not the other characters. Once again, the MC stands out, which might not necessarily be a good thing, as I think all of the wolves failed to make much of an impression. They don't really stand out much from each other, and they end up feeling like one homogenous pack instead of four unique voices. The horny scenes felt a bit out of place and unearned as a result. Still a decent showing all around, though.

This was a delightful read. I haven't read all the choices yet, but what I have read has been very good. I keep saying stories are short, but I forget about the word count limitation, so maybe I'm left wanting more, as this story has such a good future for the characters. The art supplementing it was also well done, and the movement of the sprites was also done very well. This entire VN feels complete in short, and it's very good! I also like the use of elemental aspects from various fantasy media, but some part of my brain was like, "Do all of them have to be used up at the same time?"

Some things I was thinking of while reading:
That small comeback to "read these books 5 times" hehehe, what is "It still smarts" from the imp, very on the nose injection of "light in the dark", hehe fly away with your gay ass wings, oh no such obscene spells ohhh nooo guess we all have to do it, loincloth? Those are boxers, while sketching damn??? Simulation or stimulation? Ejaculate from the altar hehe

this was fun, cute DnD adventure with our 4 wolves and a goat party. It worked well with the sprites you had

It's quaint, I appreciate it for what it is. The sexy villain saxophone made me chuckle, and I have to admire that even though there's more or less 2 body types (being generous with Rawain) all the art is still custom, including the backgrounds, so it's a pretty cohesive experience. I don't... know if this is an insult, or downside, and I don't want it to come off as one, but it feels like I'm reading porn acting. There's not really a lot of internal conflict, the writing is straightforward, the personal conflicts are all immediately resolved within the same scene they're presented, and there's even a convenient cum ritual. Like... it's set up and flashy effects to explain why this religious goodboy absolutely must get these platonic ideal of mostly wolf twinks to cum... for magic. I appreciate the variation of Jerkin' It, so while it's not like,  blowing me away or blowing my loads, I think it also understands what it is, and what it wants to be. As a side note I like that Talrem decided he had to fully commit to the bit, not just by transforming into a fell cleric but also like. Dressing up like a slut for no apparent reason? "I'm evil now, so I can wear a fit that perfectly defines my bulge and accents my cum gutters, it's in the handbook."

A reader who is into what's being served here (a light, horny, tropey fantasy adventure) will get what they want, and a reader who doesn't will probably not see the light. Even some arguable issues – clunky exposition, the prose leaning towards bare and functional, character designs strongly favoring a specific body type – feel so expected and familiar that they almost fail to register as flaws. And a lot, like the charming visual style and how cohesive the game looks due to having so much custom art, obviously just works fantastically. That being said, I am not in the target audience, so it's sort of difficult for me to say more.

One thing that did occur to me, though: even if it's a challenge to pull off in a short work, for a story about a team of four characters, the internal dynamics and tensions of the group come off as quite sparsely sketched. You can especially tell that the structure hides so much about the wolves in the choosable scenes and forces the main plot to treat them as a collective – what they think, want, and do individually rarely makes much of a difference in the big picture. Similarly, not a lot of drama is squeezed out of the protagonist. Though there's all this stuff that's set up to make him question his thoughts about the world and his relationship with the wolves, it really just feels like he makes up his mind pretty fast after meeting them and doesn't have true internal conflict afterward.

But I must stress that it's all largely competent, and most misgivings of mine probably have more to do with my own tastes as a reader than the game doing something wrong.

Really impressive effort to get something this expansive done in time for the jam, though I think the ambitious scope of this project might have also hurt it in a few ways.

Feel like it's easier if I just get to the breakdown, so spoilers from this point forward.

Implementation of Theme:

From the Harvest Sun cleric oath recited in the latter part of the story: "It is up to you to become the light in the dark." Subtle. But I think there's a couple different ways you can go from there, with Luthyr being the light in the darkness to stop the curse in an immediate sense, and also taking that a step further to stop the cycle of genocide between the wolves slaughtering goat towns and the goats slaughtering the tribes in return, as well as Luthyr illuminating his own darkness of prejudice towards wolves. While I have a few issues with the story, I think the theme comes through well enough.

Story:

This is the main area where I think you might be trying to do too much too fast. You're trying to incorporate a lot into this story, with developing the relationships between Luthyr and not one but four different guys, a bunch of lore including the goat conspiracy and monologuing villain, multiple big set piece action scenes, five different sex scenes, and then the actual immediate plot is still in there somewhere. I think trying to handle so much in such a compact setting hurts what is, seeing as this is a May Wolf entry, presumably the primary point of the VN, which is developing the relationships with the wolves. By the time Luthyr sides with the wolves at the altar, we've really only had: an awkward introduction; the kidnapping; an action scene; and your preferred flavor of lupine exposition dispenser (my preferred flavor is Rawain). Given the deeply ingrained distrust of the wolves at the start of the story, this all feels a bit rushed. Like by the time Luthyr and the wolves are looking for ways to stop the curse after beating Talrem I could barely tell you anything about any of them besides a surface level trait or two.

To expand on Luthyr trusting the wolves too fast, the one-on-one conversations all include a variation of "I should have seen that you weren't bad from the beginning" but I don't really buy this. Intentional or not, they did come off like they were shaking the store down at the beginning, and regardless of their intentions then, they absolutely still knocked out and kidnapped Luthyr. Luthyr also knows that they need him alive to complete their mission, and while all the wolves have their own version of "well I'm also a good person and care about you too", it feels a little naive for Luthyr to immediately take this at face value.

The whole Talrem thing also introduces a kinda complicated ethical issue too. I may have missed somewhere this was clarified in the text, but it came across like the wolf raids only stopped, and therefore the goat-wolf treaty was only made, because of the curse. While that doesn't necessarily justify Talrem's actions, or those of the organizations that enable him, it does add a layer of ethical complexity to the situation that's kind of glossed over since the plan is to use the freedom of movement allowed under the treaty to improve relations with the wolves, but that treaty might not exist in the first place without Talrem's actions.

I know I had a lot to say above, but there were plenty of really entertaining moments as well. Action scenes were really well done for a Renpy project, some of the banter was good, and I did notice some of the little details you threw in like Luthyr and Talrem both feeling isolated and having read the same set of books five times. I think there was just some narrative scope creep here.

Presentation:

For the most part, very very good. The number of sprites and CGs in this project is astounding for the jam timeframe (even the primarily palette-swapped imps had unique and distinguishing characteristics) and the other touches like the custom UI and music really worked as well (with a possible exception for Talrem's cheesy sax, which felt a bit out of place). It's really hard to get right, but I think you pulled off the motions of the sprites in the action scenes in a way that actually helped sell the flow of the fights.

The one knock I have on presentation is that there was a very noticeable number of typos and other proofreading errors like misplaced punctuation throughout. Not sure if you ran out of time or energy, but this one could have used another pass for polish.

Creativity:

I mean, there's certainly no shortage of creativity here. Given the above points, I think the issue for this project may have actually been too much creativity. The effort to set up the general setting and the lore that exists within it is commendable and I really appreciate trying to bring a larger scale story to life in such a short timeframe. From my perspective I just wish it was a little bit more focused though. Still more than worth a read though and I'll definitely be interested in seeing more from you.

4 wolves in one?? That’s so cool! They are all good bois, I can’t decide for my favorite ><

You provide a lot of assets, especially for all the NSFW art (very arousing scenes let’s be honest), and the story is nice too! It was a pleasure to read all the routes and notice all the differences, everything done by yourself and in one month, that’s crazy 0_o

Good job Fuzedude!!

Quite the fun adventure! We’re introduced to a pretty classic medieval-fantasy kind of world, but I don’t mind it. This party of wolves is on an important mission and we end up helping them. The plot progresses at a good pace and the characters are all distinct and fun to interact with. The villain really works for the story told. It all ends with an excuse to have a sex scene, but I can’t really fault you for this, I did the exact same thing for my Novembear.^^ The prose is easy to read, but there are quite a number of typos and other small mistakes. The character sprites are all nice and expressive and the backgrounds look really good. There are quite the number of them, too! The music fits well and works in the VN’s favor. Overall, a very fun romp! Well done!

Spoiler Alert!

A fun read, with very scrumptious scenes at the end. The first two choices was just kind of there though. I mean you’d get the same point across with either choice, and it doesn’t exactly let you know anything new. It’s fine though, many choices or not is a very preference based thing. I still felt that the plot progressed too fast, cuz like not MC fully trusting them right after they were kidnapped (that was one fight scene away from each other).

The sex scene is optional but still, for literally all the other choices, its still kind of too fast but the confines of the jam and all so its not too bad.

Presentation wise I like the music and everything, but sometimes the screen felt too cluttered with sprites (for good reason but I think you could’ve separate it better). The music kind of fits but some tunes didn’t really hit right w/ the vibes of the story.

I mean there’s a light church and a not-so-light church. Also MC saving the wolves from Talrem/The change in MC’s perspective would somewhat count as ‘Light in the Dark’…or maybe the seed magic dispelling the curse wink wink. The theme is there, present throughout the journey but not necessarily well incorporated (again its most likely due to how rushed the plot felt)

P.S So…Talrem… I can fix him. (Why is the villain always so HOTTTT HELPPPPPP) P.P.S You got me all excited at the mention of loincloths and its just boxers and undies (except those twink imps) :(

Great job, and I really liked the art! All characters involved are incredibly cute

Short and fun VN, really liked the story in it, great for a first time jam submission.
