Awesome game! I really liked the visuals and the UI — they look fantastic. I noticed something that might be a bug I was able to place it in the air (not sure if that’s intentional). Here’s a screenshot of what I mean. I also liked the idea that you just need to collect $3500 to win — it’s simple but challenging. The auto-save feature is a great touch too; it saved me from restarting every time. Overall, really cool game :D
Hi! Yes, this is a pretty rare bug that happens when saving where I forgot to set certain variables to false when loading the game xD Sorry! Thanks for the kind words :D
[I share my rating publicly, because i feel like that's more fair for you and me]
Gameplay: 3 stars → The game feels clunky, and i spent most of the time doing the same thing in the menus. Finding a way to make the core loop a bit more engaging would be nice. For example, a dynamic economy that sometimes values certain crops more than other, because atm i just chose the clover over and over again since it looks like it benefits me more. And the adjustable prices is not a bad idea, but in the execution i think it removed the reward of getting economically powerful, since prices are raised the more money you have. Also, progress feels slow, and buying a shelf upgrade doesn't feel good, because you are "wasting" this progress.
Theme: 5 stars → The microtransactions should've been next to the ads rewards in my opinion (i did not find them at first)
Polish: 4 stars → I really love the animations, I just think some animations hinders the experience and make the game less responsive. For example, the inventory takes a bit of time before going up, and that is noticeable.
Visuals & Audio: 5 stars → The game is really pretty, good job. And the audio matches well with the visuals.
Also i had to refresh the page multiple times because of a bug with ads, but my progress was not saved. I'm having doubt about the auto save thing.
Overall i think it's the best game of this game jam. It's very clunky, but looks and plays great.
Don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions !
TY SO MUCH for the nice words. These mean a lot dude :D
About the gameplay, I think you're right. The economy I've made seems rather slow, which I was actively trying to avoid but somehow ended up doing the very thing. I feel like maybe the upgrades being unlocked through a certain amounts of plants harvested might have been a better idea as well. I will try to fix these issues once the jam ends, some of them are already on my todo list for this week :)
Again, thanks for the details feedback and the honest rating- Much appreciated
The art and music are fantastic, and the Mover interface is fun and makes you smile
I'm glad you enjoyed the ads! They were my favorite part this project xD
XD
I don't know how you managed to bring so much stuff in 2 weeks, very capricious!
Haha thanks! I just planned everything on around the 3rd day of the jam and followed the schedule and it was no biggie ;) This was such a fun experience!
I liked your game. It's nice to water the flowers. The drawing is fantastic. It's time to take lessons from you on Krita;)
In the next game, add full-screen button.
The training is not interactive.
I think it would be better to make planting by clicking on the pot. The interactive zone is too narrow and I couldn't figure out for a long time how to plant plants.
Why do I need so many pots and what do they give? It's hard to plan the economy. The impact on profit is unclear. Why do I need additional shelves? When I reread the tutorial, I saw that watering increases income.
I can't hold seeds and a watering can at the same time very well.
The ads are funny.
I know you know about pot bugs.
It's possible that without a watering can and ads the economy is unprofitable.
Open the panel, select a plant, plant, open the panel for buying seeds, buy, close, open the panel, select a plant, plant. There are a lot of all kinds of unnecessary and untimely openings and closings of panels.
Thanks for the compliments on the art! This was my first ever 2D Art project xD so it means a lot.
1. I didn't add a fullscreen button because I set the position of texts relative to screen size and anything over 1280x720 would break their positioning.
2. Yes, I'm sorry but I don't think all tutorial are supposed to be interactive. This is why I called it "How to play" rather than an actual tutorial. I was running out of time so this was all I could do.
3. Yeah, I'm aware of the wonky hitboxes, sorry :( I couldn't find a neat fix around them
4. A pot's durability increases with rarity. So the rarer ones are harder to break. I couldn't explain this clearly in the tutorial so this one's on me.
5. You CAN hold seeds and the watering can at the same time.
6. Thank you :)
7. Yeah, the pots bugs occurred really late into the jam and I didn't want to break everything by trying to fix them.
8. Not really. The sell prices and the shop prices are adjusted with your income. I spent time coding in a functional economy to make the shop fair to the player
9. Without the use of panels the area in which the player is supposed to plant would be cluttered and full. This was my fix for it. Sorry if it was repetitive.
Thank you for all the valuable feedback! It makes me so happy that someone took the time to play my game and took the time to tell me everything they thought about the game, I really appreciate it! Your game was pretty cool too :D
I am glad for your achievements.
1. Oh, this is extremely important. If the game does not adjust to the screen resolution, there is a high chance that it will not pass moderation on any web platform. (I am not even talking about the user experience.)
2. Yes, I understand that in the jam you did not have time for an interactive tutorial. It was enough for me that you had a guide "how to play" inside the game. So I will not punish you for this. I said this for the future. And no, you are wrong, all tutorials should be interactive. Otherwise, you can lose many players. The player wants to play, and not read long guides "how to play".
3. I do not understand how this problem arose at all. You definitely need to find a solution to it.
5. I did not like this. Your multi-tool works, I can plant a seed while holding a watering can in my hands. But, still, this is a questionable solution. Also, I can't open the panel with seeds while holding a watering can. Also, I can't remove the watering can with the right mouse button. Anyway, those hateful panels again.
7. And you did the right thing!
9. Yes, you've played more than me, you know better which solution is better. But still, think about making the player move the mouse as little as possible and click as little as possible. I really think that this will improve the user experience.
The polish is great, and the visuals are also cute! Sick job overall.
On a sidenote, I think while submitting, you filled your details in wrong options, They are flipped.
Thank your for all the feedback :D I spent a lot of time to figure the art out so I'm glad a lot of people ended up liking it :)
BTW DUDE TYSM! I just fixed the submission details thanks to you 😭
I loved it! It’s an entertaining game with great visual appeal. The JAM theme was well implemented through the use of bundles. One small suggestion: when selecting a seed, it would be more convenient to allow planting in each pot with a single click—rather than having to reopen the menu and reselect the seed every time. Other than that, everything was great. The ad simulation was a really nice touch!
Also, as a Spanish speaker, I noticed a few translation mistakes in the Spanish version, but it’s all good—everything is understandable, and that’s what matters most.
Yeah major blunder there. I will make it so that you can do that and hopefully add some more content after the jam ends! Sorry about the Spanish, I just started taking lessons two weeks ago. And I used google translate for most of it, so I know it was DEFENIETLY NOT accurate xD
I had so much fun growing various plants! I like how much attention was spent on detail. You can see the plants grow, everything feels smooth and refined. Wow!
Tysm! I'm surprised at how my people like the art lol, I DID NOT expect it. I used a tween animation for the plant growth so it was no biggie. Thank you for the kind words again! I really loved your game too :D
Nicey cool 4.5 Stars I unable to rate this project because i haven’t submitted my game
THANKS!!!! It's fine, I appreciate feedback more than anything :D
