Any tips I could use from some more experienced devs?

Here is 1 tip I would recomend. Start 'mine game jams' that are 1-2 hours long, and make 1 game a week. Then post it for free on w3spaces, and get feedback from your friends and faimily.

Agreed.  Best is to jump into it without being too critical on yourself.  You don't need to learn the most efficient way to do everything from the start.  Start with small projects (coin flipper, rock-paper-scissors, ect) and you will build knowledge and skills along the way that will improve the next project naturally.  But most importantly, have fun creating.
