Very nice game! It feels very polished and well thought out. There's depth and strategy in all the right places. The gameplay is intuitive, despite the lack of rules for card effects. I can also see potential in fleshing it out further. I have a few thoughts on possible improvements after playing the web version (it's a long list because I enjoyed the game so much I kept playing for a while):

  • I liked the intro but would have liked a skip option after I restarted the game.
  • Visual feedback for hovering on cards because sometimes I wasn't sure what I could do or which card on the board I was dealing with.
  • An indicator of the phase I'm in over the course of a round to keep an overview would have helped me in the beginning because I found it difficult to keep track of the big picture.
  • Indication of what is being attacked or is attacking on the board, as well as moving the popup out of the way because I can't seem to see all my cards with the popup in the way.
  • I would have liked an in-game way of keeping track of card effects after I used them.
  • Not sure if this was intentional game design but: I couldn't quite figure out the logic of what card getting attacked when the spot the card moves to is surrounded by 2 or 3 cards. A little directional indicator for a battle to occur before I move would have been helpful.
  • I'd like to be able to look at my cards at any given time throughout the game.

Also, I encountered a bug after one of my cards was defeated, it stayed floating on the right for the beginning of the next battle.
