What games genres do you have experience in (playing and/or developing) and what type of theme do you hope this jam has? If it's your first jam (it's my first jam), what you you looking forward to learning?
Just starting my game development journey and I've been looking for a jam to help hone my skills. I don't have any belief that I will place high in this jam but the journey of learning and challenging myself is what bring me here today. I've release a game earlier this year just to prove to myself that I can complete the process of creating and releasing a game. Now my next challenge has brought me here despite my anxieties. I look forward to reading about the journeys of others and us all working together in the future.
I'm a programmer of 8+ years and my goal for this jam is to just make something. I don't want to learn anything: I've already learned a lot about management through other projects, skills and many other things, and I know I will continue to do so for the rest of my life, but what I want above all else is to just finally make something. Finally use the skills I've been working on my whole life to make something fun and enjoyable, and actually start making things with people.
If you want, we can work together! Im ok learning the syntax your good with, because at the end of the day, i'll probally get better as a programmer, and that's my end goal. Don't worry, I have had a website were i make games under 20 Kilobytes so they can run on ANY computer, and are fast to make. And remember, the people on here don't know you, so it's won't affect you if it isn't perfect. Anyways, have fun =)
it was a top down shooter game but I realised it wasn't the type of games that interestsme so I stopped and I am on the beginning steps of making an undertale like game where you would have the option to recruit the opponents but I realise the scale of such a project so for now, I'll try to get more experience by paarticipating in game jams
