This VN really is excellent, ticks all the right boxes. There's an interplay of a hardened military operation and a sweet and witty relationship banter ft. a military DILF. Darius feels like a fully realized person thanks to the ability for us to see both sides of his life, and even to see how he's changed over time. Well, sort of. Truthfully, he's sarcastic on both sides, but that just makes him more likeable. It's really nice to see how Luc and Darius support each other on their worst days. If it was just that, I'd already have this VN as one of my favorites, but then there's a whole new side to it all, and what a side. The presentation is impeccable, evoking a very game-like feel (though I suspect those loading screens are doctored). Everything works together to build up the tension, to ramp up the intrigue of this apparently fantastical military world. Honestly, it's a shame it ended where it did, but there was plenty enough VN for me to enjoy it all. Definitely one of my favorites, could even be the big winner.
