The game is really fun!
It is pretty confusing, and it does seem to softlock, but I really like the gameplay loop of making brews for the queen. The artwork and music are also nice, as others said
Hope you guys have time to develop this into a full game!
It's pretty, love all the little details, the ui is clean, decorating the island is a fun bit of progress to work towards. If this was a genre of game I enjoyed I'm sure I'd play it more.
I had a similar experience to the other commenters. The game is incredible polished in terms of art, UI, and sound, but has some gameplay issues that hold the game back. I found the soft lock by clearing the input nodes issues pretty early, and never felt like I fully intuited the basic gameplay loop. I would also really like to see some UI to remind you of the 3 property types, and, once unconstrained by the jam limitations, maybe a different color coding for each.
Still a very solid submission, it was cozy and polished and I will be excited to see how it evolves after the jam if you choose to continue working on it!
I want to live on that island
Wonderful Game!! I loved the visuals, i do think a tutorial would have helped a lot as it was kinda confusing to get into at first
Gorgeous visuals and wonderful music! Everyone on the art team and music team did a fantastic job (I especially love the "cartoony" low-poly 3D visuals). When the game started I had some idea of what to do (based on the request from the queen bee) but how to create honey and apply modifiers was confusing. I think a tutorial which minimizes the number of options and directly gives instructions to the player would've greatly helped.
As soon as you start the game you are welcome with a banger of a music track that brings you into a perfect vibe, but is not distracting at all. The next thing you notice is the mesmerizing visuals in the main menu and the audio visual feedback you get from hovering over the buttons give a sense of nice polish. The actual game play visuals is really awesome too. I didn't realize that this palette can be used in such a creative way and I really appreciate that. The gameplay idea is there and it is sound, but I did run into a lot of issues and I kept having to refresh the page to progress. Basically if you accidentally apply any modifier or clear the input nodes, you get soft locked as the flowers can no longer be dragged into the input nodes. I do realize that this game has potential and the duration of the jam was probably too short to pull of what it was aiming for, so I played the game carefully with that in mind. I really enjoyed playing the game, and I hope the developers will keep working on it and add more stuff to it to create complex puzzles.
Man this game is oozing with quality. The visuals, effects, shaders, sounds, music, its top tier.
The only thing left to be desired for me is the gameplay, very unintuitive and my modifers dissapeared very shortly into playing. Other than no tutorial and not really knowing what to do I did enjoy the game for what it is :)
The artstyle is phenomenal! The UI animations make the game feel polished and snappy! Music was nice and relaxing. The gameplay though felt a bit overwhelming, it would have been nice to be given clear directions, maybe a tutorial of some sort? At the very least for the concepts to be introduced gradually.
Still, a really cute game, I enjoyed it :)
