i love clicker games and making one for a jam isnt a bad idea, my comments are like everyone else's, a zoom out function and i wasnt too sure why you had things in a map layout but it was a nice refreshing touch (lowkey wish i coulda spammed spacebar like a browser game but oh well haha) good job!

Thanks for the review!
The zoom out function was really needed... I think I was just lazy and thought I can place everything super close... turns out the text display had an error so I have to put everything far.
The map layout was my original idea---an idle upgrade tree. Sadly I didn't make the connection lines in time. I might make a post jam version to fix some issues and add content!
What a great clicker game, it is very impressive that was done in 3 hours.
I like it, a few things that I kind of felt missing were a zoom out function or just the playfield being more zoomed out since upgrades in the tree sometimes get placed outside of the players view and there isn't any line connection between them, so it wouldn't be hard to miss. Also I know that the timeframe kinda constrains us in making a lot of polish (I had to cut back on gameplay to polish mine), but I feel like there should have been a little more time put towards making clicking the button more fun to press (be it through shaders, changing the size or adding a more satisfying sound effect for pressing the button), also it would be great to next time use PlayOneShot() instead of Play() so the SFX doesn't get cut when it's called a second time. But Overall still really solid, especially for a 3 hour jam.
Thanks for the detailed review and suggestions!
The lines was a development process I decided to give up because I wanted to add more content(To be fair I have no idea how to make them...)... sorry for the inconvenience in the gameplay. If I tried to add the line the game will probably have like 3 upgrades haha
Same with the zoom in function... another mechanic I missed(And it was an important one) for my game content reasons. This turned out to be a bad choice haha since everyone is commenting on this.
I cut a lot of time in polishing, And the button animation was deleted since it didnt work...(Turns out I misconnected the nodes and it was a 1 minute fix when I looked at it post jam). So I missed a bit on the actual clicker part.
Thanks for the advice on PlayOneShot()! I had no idea about audio stuff and only know how to use Play(), but I can always learn in these jams!
That was super fun and relaxing, yet addictive. Polish is insane for just 3 hours wow. I_AM_STUPID you are not stupid haha.
Thanks for playing :D
I used this particle + light effect for most of my Trijam games after I learned how to and it appears to be decent. I still want to learn tho, so maybe for a Trijam project I will use extra polishing and learn some post processing!
(The name was created as a joke and it just stayed with me haha)
That was a fun short clicker game. I'm impressed by the polish for 3 hours (x2). One note, I think the text label with the winning text shows when the final node is shown, rather than when you win (along with the confetti).
Thanks for the review!
For the winning text, I was running out of time and I think I didn't test it properly... sorry for the bug
The polishing is decently simple as I just set up 2 similar particle systems and some lighting. This is the usual polishing I use in Trijams and I feel like it is effective enough for my time.
this was surprisingly robust for a jam game! so many upgrades to choose from, and the 2 resources was a cool touch. brilliant work you two, and glad to see you back on the trijams!
Hey nice game again! Always love me a good clicker that actually has some story set up! Next time I think it would profit from having a zoom function or anything like that though! Also loved the visuals and the audio!
Would love it if you could take a look at my game as well if you have time! Always love to learn!
Thanks for the review:D
The zoom function was in my list; however...I spent a bit too much time adding more on the skill tree than to try to figure out camera zoom. I might make a full version of this game after the jam with more functions and better gameplay!
Also...great job reviewing so many games so early in the jam!
Hi:D
Feel free to leave any comments/suggestions about the game, as I don't think the story & progress is anywhere close to accurate.
About how the game correlates to the theme:
The story was set in the future, where all programming has been focused onto operating robots & machines. Essentially, game development has became "decomissioned" as an idea left in history. However, the players are trying to change this and restart game development industry from scratch.(All game dev stuff are lost)
