Description
For this music jam, I explored the emotional arc of a fantasy couple in love who tragically become enemies, crafting three tracks tied together by recurring leitmotifs. Designed to fit within a cinematic or dialogue-driven RPG, each piece captures a pivotal moment in their journey.

The tracks Intertwined Threads, Fraying Bonds, and Woven in Ruin, depict their transition from connection to betrayal. Motif 1, heard in both the first and final tracks, symbolizes the love they shared and the lingering thread of their bond, while Motif 2 represents the harsh truth that drives them apart in a somber and soft way, culminating in their inevitable enmity.

I have no idea why I made this so deep...

Great composition and tonal texture, composition is really nice.

I think the strings are a bit midi-ish for what you're going for.. which is always tough to solve without real instruments. Heh the reason I bought a cello was for composition, I figured it can play in the majority of the range and I can just double it down.

One thing about violin family instruments - you can usually rent them and have the rental fees go towards a purchase. Even the cheaper student ones still have so much more dynamic potential than a virtual instrument.

Just a thought - that's how I ended up with a cello.

Great work! :)

Why is your tracks always so red XD ? Anyway I like the storytelling and the emotions you put in your track. Fraying bounds is my favourite not only for the composition but for the mix, very clean on this one. Intertwined Threads and Woven in Ruin are pretty nice but I feel like you can go bigger especally the strings are staying around the same range you can make them move a lot more, there is also some nice subtle hits that might introduce us to something crazy and probably a big bigger but you never went for it, I was waiting for the expansion of something. Nonetheless its a nice composition everything made sense, good structure. well done

Haha, my DAW's default track color for instruments is red, and I just never bother to change it ๐Ÿ˜‚.

Thank you so much for the feedback!

Definitely full of atmosphere! One thing that might make it even more listenable in my opinion (and this is just a suggestion, there are no rules in music!) is giving the melody more time to breathe between phrases. Even when writing for string instruments that don't technically need a breath, melodies are clearer and more communicative when they have a defined start and end point. I noticed this issue most at the end.
Other than that as I said you nailed the atmosphere that you were aiming for, well done!

This has just an beautiful atmosphere that gave me goose bumps while listening (in a positive way). Fraying Bodns was just wonderful with its little synths in the background and Woven in Ruin has just an aching quality that is to adore. I really liked the generally minimalistic approach for the arrangement and the little ambient sounds in the background. Mix wise it was just smooth as butter. Chefs kiss!

I wanna thank you for your feedback in the dev channel. Was very helpful when cleaning up the mix more!

I felt your approach to the orchestration had a very film soundtrack quality to it, it felt dynamically evolving, very emotional but somehow comfortable at the same time, the finale made me shiver.

Loved it, thanks for sharing!

Atmosphere? Impeccable. Everything feels very floaty in a great atmospheric way. I could put this on loop, close my eyes, and have the perfect soundtrack to chill out to. The idea of having both motifs used to represent specific things in the story is really great too, amazing work!

Wonderful mood on all of them! Kinda has lot going on at all times, but all the instruments meld into this really nice soundbed?? if that's a word ๐Ÿ˜….

Listened to this like 10 times in a row, so good stuff? ๐Ÿ˜„
