Like you said you ran out of time, but I think I get the concept and it could become interesting to play. The fact that you have to switch turns yourself is kind of weird though. Also I didn't fully understand what the top layer was for, I just played without it haha.
Also like that other guy said, the text is really hard to read, thanksfully you added the keybinds in the game description on itch.
