that was really cool the art was really good especially for a game jam just the photos, but my imagination just made it more creepy

Developer

At least having the photos broken left some cool room for your imagination hahahah! Thanks a lot for playing!

Really solid entry! Loved the atmosphere and the narrative setup, its super immersive.

Developer

Thanks a lot for the comment :)
The atmosphere was one of the things I tried to focus a lot while working on the game, so, really happy that it was able to make an impact!
Thanks again and see ya!

Literally what everyone else has been saying. Besides the photos that could not load, this game creeped this crap out of me! Story got me hooked. Really nice work. Loved the themed of the game too. Excellent work.

Developer

LOL, really happy that I managed to get the emotions and the story across!

Images don't show. :(

But otherwise great entry and story.

Developer

Thanks a lot for the comment and totally valid feedback haha, I think I messed up on some file paths there :/
Super happy that you enjoyed the story though! Thanks!

Holyy, really nice stuff, this game has the potential to be a steam game, feels really smooth, the video call gave me chills, unfortenately i couldn't see the photos but other than that everything was 10/10.

Great Job, one of my favorites so far!

Developer

OMG! Thanks for the comment, and super happy that you enjoyed! I think I messed up on the logic regarding absolute/relative paths, so that might be the issue for the images not to be loading properly on the built version :(

But I’m glad I managed to get the emotions across! Thanks a lot for the comment :D

A lot of potential, and arguably the best implementation of a narrative system I've seen in jams. Feels very authentic, with a lot of thought having gone into creating parallels with how real chats work.

I suppose I'm too triggered by the real versions of these, but I could've done without the captcha tests, haha. None seemed to have worked for me, but the dialogue options continued as if I were supposed to see the photos and provide my response to them, so that was a tad-bit of a bummer.

I'm sure this will get mentioned, but the fixed resolution and web-only version minimized the game to the corner of Itch's viewport. Reducing the viewport to the resolution of the game can be done on the Itch dashboard, but unless there was a reason to, it's best to just enable "resizable" in Godot in the future.

Story is okay. The events begin happening too quickly / abruptly to the point where you're not particularly attached to any of the faceless characters (including your own), so an evil entity trying to take over your computer isn't necessarily bothersome, and the panic of the dialogue options wasn't reflective of my feelings.

Mechanically, the incredible narrative system is a foundation for something very creative. Well done!

Hey Ricky! Thanks a lot for the super awesome feedback and review! I totally agree that the CAPTCHA mechanic might need some work, and I think I messed up when configuring the itch page for the game hahahahah, I'm kinda new to Godot and to the itch ecosystem in general.
I'll look into the resizable thing you mentioned, tho! Thanks for the tip :D

Glad that you liked the narrative system, and in the future, I might work a little more on the story to give it a little more room to breathe. It makes total sense to me!

TY a lot and see ya :)
