Great game
Great atmosphere, but I got stuck in a room with 2 baby dolls and there was no way to leave.
Thanks so much for playing my game! Did something seem to block your progress? It’s possible I accidentally left a collider on without enabling 'Is Trigger.' I'll double-check that. Really appreciate your feedback!
I just figured out the issue! I forgot to reset the player's position after playtesting. It's fixed now, so if you'd like, feel free to try it again, everything should work this time! If you also have any suggestions, please let me know.
The atmosphere is great! The camera movement feels a bit floaty or sliding (kind of like moving on ice), and also I often get stuck on the furniture in the hallway, so it would be great if either the prop was smaller or the player hitbox is smaller. The ending was also quite dark, but the story remains somewhat confusing to me.
Overall, a great game! Definitely has some potential!
Yeah, I can definitely try reducing the camera sliding—it was mainly there to enhance the dynamic flashlight effect. As for the ending, I’ll admit I wasn’t quite sure what direction to take. The core idea was that the player had killed a baby and is now being haunted through a nightmare. I didn’t have time to fully develop the lore or narrative, so I worked with what I had and built around the asset I found. Really appreciate the feedback—it means a lot!
I hit the same dead dead end as WinstonLabs. The game had a very PT feel to it, and was very atmospheric to start. But the dream-like pace of the character is brutally slow, and the charm of it being dream-like wears off after the first slow walk through the hallway. The audio cut out after waking up from going to bed, so that also added to the slow feeling of walking down the halls. But the horror was definitely there!
Thank you so much for your help! I was able to fix the bugs and increase the AI's walking speed. I also added a few extra features to enhance the experience. If you'd like, feel free to give it another try! I really appreciate your feedback. Thanks again!
The faster walking speed made the experience a ton better!! Also the monster showed up to help guide me to the room (which I already knew where it was, but definitely added to the effect). I got past where it was breaking before, but got stuck again after the second room with writing. I can see the yellow light down the end of the hall, but after multiple attempts of running around, re-entering the second baby room (which triggered some baby audio each time I entered that didn't play the first time I went in, but didn't seem to effect the yellow-lit door (and on second thought maybe I needed to go back to the first baby room?)). That said, amazing jump scare. Of what I've played so far, this is by far the scariest. Well done.
If you're able to patch it again, please let me know!
Hi ZymbySlayer! Thanks so much for playing again—I really appreciate it! Did you enter the baby room, go into the motel room, and click on the bed? After grabbing the key and unlocking the second baby room, you need to return to the motel room and go to sleep to trigger the next part. I tested the sequence and it worked on my end, so it’s possible I uploaded the wrong build, or maybe that part just got missed?
Also, if you have any suggestions on how to make the experience scarier or ideas for new additions, I’d love to hear them!
Hi thank you for playing my game! I don't know why that was happening I have to check it out. After you open the door and enter, you should be able to go back and sleep. I will check it out. Thank you for the critiques as well! It is my first time doing a game jam and I really appreciate it.
