First- I'm not a survival game guy, so I'm not really the intended audience.
First of all- I gotta say, on the technical level- this is really good (also- I've read your devlog before playing the game ;). Maybe even too much! I have a fairly beefy PC, and I had some lags here and there, but you addded detail sliders, so after some adjustments it was better. And while the graphics look really good- it looks like the sound of waves is the only sound in game. Some "hammer hitting wood" sounds when crafting would fit the game's atmosphere (also- I knew I remembered you from previous jam, and I written the same thing under Prosperia. Seriously- sound does a LOT for atmosphere).
What I liked were the clear and easy to use menus. This is not the only crafting game in this jam, but here I clearly knew what I needed to collect to craft a specific tool, or building. Kudos for that! And if we are on that- I really could use everything as a resource, so that's a nice use of the theme!
As for the game balance and polish. I think you could work on that a bit. Since only cutting down a tree destroys it, you could just use a palm, and a leafy tree, and sort of grind on that. I built a distillery, but discovered that any palm gives you all the coconuts you need, and they take care of your hunger and thirst. In a sense there was no incentive to explore the island.
Also- I thought it was a legal requirement to have a fishing minigame in a survival game :)
Over all- very ambitious project, and as such, very difficult to deliver during a game jam. You can tell which elements had the most focus, because they are done really well, but those that didn't felt rather neglected.
