Very nice.
I quite liked the levels from 5 onward, as the puzzle of how to split water evenly makes it really interesting.
Could potentially carry a full game, if you have to split between 3 pipes and have one or two interacting systems on top ( maybe have to make steam from your water, before cooling it down again, as a way to have "inverted gravity" water, while the rest is unaffected? )
Had you already played "Where is my Water?", because that would be another game where you dig to move fluids into goals. Though I don't think they made a gravity switching mechanism in any of the version I have tried.
Very cool, I don't know Pico so I wonder if it's possible to include some mouse controls with it ?
Very fun! I've never seen a game like this in Pico!
You nailed it.
I see you used cellular automata for the water. You have a specifics algorithm ?
I've tried few month ago Nobili cellular automata, it was sorth the hassle
Thanks! It's more inspired by cellular automata than a direct implementation. I treat the world as a pixel grid with gravity, and water as a single pixel particle. Each frame, particles check if they can move down, or sideways if blocked, and otherwise stay put. Pretty simple, but it holds up well enough on Pico-8 if you keep particle counts under control.
Holy shit I like the water physics
Thanks, I was able to repurpose some cellular automata code from other work and add the gravity
Outstanding game. Loved playing through it!
Very polished game. Congrats.
