The game already works on mobile.
I don’t think the grid can be made smaller, given the core concept of the puzzle. Each piece needs to be a 3-letter block, and together they must form a larger hexagon. The number of required words is directly tied to the grid’s size.
As for the difficulty, it definitely gets easier with practice—which is kind of the point of "brainteaser" games like this. I suggest starting by finding a 3-letter word along the edge of the grid, then looking for a 4-letter word next to it. Once you get going, the rest tends to fall into place.
