Which Theme did you choose?
How did you implement your chosen Theme in your game?
The programming system was Unity 6. I used mostly Synty assets and animations by RamsterZ. Voice was my voice modified in ElevenLabs. I used a visual programming tool, Game Creator 2.
The story is about a disgraced detective. She was thrown out of the force because she was reporting about a demons and a cult of followers responsible for an arson.
Although now off the force, she is revisiting key locations in the city at night--all is dark and scummy. She has to find pages from her journal while facing evil characters and a demon.
At the end, she realizes that she is also a victim of the Demon forced to participate in his schemes by being drugged.
Did you implement any of your Theme's Bonus Challenges, and if so, which ones?
1 - Urban Horror: The game takes place in some urban area, for example within a big city or a large town: I created levels where the character goes to city locations including a city Nightclub, and large city police station, a Warehouse and an asylum.
2 - Serve And Protect: The protagonist is a police officer or a detective: The character is a detective.
3 - Chains That Bind You: There's a part in the game where the protagonist has to escape from some kind of restraints (being tied to a chair, handcuffed etc.): This was partially done by caging the detective at the end.
I also incorporated a bonus item from another one of the themes:
3 - Animal Masks: The game features figures wearing animal masks.
Just a few have animal masks, but I incorporated masks in general as a theme.

That was thrilling! I'd like to praise the clear dedication you've put into the graphics, atmosphere, setting and characters. The whole environment felt really consistent - creepy, abandoned, well-worn. Also enjoyed the story. Like others said, a mouse sensitivity config option would be great, and the ability to toggle the flashlight would be a cool addition.
Thank you so much for playing. I may need to create a help screen. Th flashlight can be toggled on and off with the "2" key.
I really appreciate the feedback, and I am so glad you liked it
I really enjoyed playing the game! The visuals and sound effects were incredibly well done! The atmosphere, especially in the hospital section, was intense, and the sound design there stood out to me the most. I liked it when the whole scene got disoriented and dreamlike after getting the last journal. I played the game all the way through and was fully immersed. There were moments where I found myself wanting to interact just a little more with the environment. Overall though, it was a fantastic experience. Really well-crafted horror with strong narrative and artistic style.
Thank you so much for playing and I am glad you enjoyed it. And thank you for the feedback. I will think about how to do the environment more. I did struggle with time and multiple levels so things like a gun, a club, and more interesting enemies didn't make the cut (yet!).
If you get a moment, I’d appreciate you checking out my game as well... 🙃
Doing it now.
The jumpscares are cool and the atmosphere is pretty good, some bugs there and there but overall good job
Thank you so much for playing it.
Well put together in the time! The jump scares got me XD
Thank you for playing it. This was a really fun Jam to do and there are so many fun entries to try.
Just played! You have a really good sense of environment and atmosphere.
Walking into the first level was awesome! Very well done.
I think some of the sound queues could be a little more feathered out(smoothed out). Additionally, a mouse sensitivity setting would be great too, i was flying all over the screen.
As I was saying before, if you built all the levels and layouts your self, you have a really good sense of environment and connecting all of that with atmosphere to create a good combination.
The first jump scare actually got me!
Well done, keep making games:)
Thank you for playing. I really enjoyed doing this Jam. And It is also really fun seeing how others interpreted the themes. So much creativity!
The style is very interesting, the sounds are awesome, and the voice acting is great too! – it has its own charm, and I really enjoy playing it. In my opinion, it’s a big game with a lot of things to explore. There are many events that occur, and the story is well told.
However, there are a few things I miss in this game. The walking felt a bit too wobbly for my taste, and I really missed a mouse sensitivity setting. I also had the feeling that I couldn’t protect myself from the entities, and I wasn’t sure if it was intended that they hit me without any chance to avoid it – or if there was actually a way to escape.
All in all, it’s a really great game and absolutely worth playing. Nice job! Keep up the great work!
Thank you so much for playing. I am considering going further with it and I will take into consideration your thoughts. And I will definitely make mouse sensitivity a priority in future games. That has come up a few times. I really appreciate the great comments.
The art style and the models in the game are just something else. Also, the intro text and how it was written as if the detective is texting on his phone his story was just tremendous to see in action.
Another thing someone probably pointed this out already, make an option in the settings where I can lower the mouse sensitivity because I feel like it's too high for my taste.
I love reading through the journals. This game is certainly horrific. If I were to take a guess on the theme style, it would a comic-like horror gameplay due to how the models look like they're made straight from a comic book.
I played the whole way through and I've beaten the game. The important moment came at the near end when I grabbed the final journal and all the sudden, I was drunk and everything felt like a fantasy that I had some trouble finding the exit. Great storytelling and narrative from start to finish, I loved every minute of this game.
Thank you for playing and the supportive comments. I had so much fun making this and I had a good colleague doing play testing and making suggestions.
And I love horror games and movies. This jam has made me better, and I am having tons of fun playing the other creative entries submitted. So much talent putting in game submissions in this jam!
loving the art style and all the effort poured into this game. One small suggestion, adding a mouse sensitivity setting could really help players like me fine-tune the experience. Overall I enjoyed the game
Thank you for playing and the comments. You are the second person to suggest the mouse sensitivity so I am going to adjust that after the Jam assessments and fix it for future people who want to play it. And thank you for the encouraging words. I had so much fun figuring out what I wanted to do, and I love all the games I am playing by the other creators. Amazing efforts people are making.
The environments feel very densely populated, and even though they're pre-made, I believe you used them very well. I really liked all the various events you sprinkled throughout the locations, like whispers, appearing spookies and such. And UI looks very slick, nice design and good font choice.
Thank you for playing! I had a ton of fun making it.
Love the art style and the effort put into this game! It's really captivating. However, could you consider adding a mouse sensitivity setting? It would make the experience even smoother for players like me who need a bit more control. Thanks for the awesome game! :)
Thank you. I can work on the sensitivity. I appreciate you looking at it and enjoying it.
The game was kind of buggy. I liked what I could play, but I also got lost. The video will be viewable on July 7th, I am sadly out of town, but I enjoyed it. Wish I could've beaten it, found a few bugs where you can fall out of the map. Also, the cursor not being locked made it very difficult to play since I have three monitors and it could've gone off screen in two different directions. But I am interested in seeing more of this!
Thank you for this. I developed it on one screen so I didn't even think of the lock issue. And I will look for colliders missing. I can edit before the submission deadline.
I am looking forward to trying all the games.
I had the chance to do the fixes. You early comments really helped. Thank you.
You're welcome!
