Good idea overall. Game is playable but it starts to lag after a short time on my pc :(
Very NICEEEE
GOOD JOB!!
:DDD
Nice game, I enjoyed it! Though the controls are a little strange, and I’m not sure if I did something wrong, but at some point, I stopped hearing the shooting sounds. Nonetheless, good job!
Would you have preferred WASD for controls, even if the tank can't turn 180°? Thanks for playing and for reporting the sound issue.
I think so. I feel like the current controls are better suited for games where you're not limited to 90-degree turns. Maybe removing the 90-degree limitation is the solution.
One cool thing you can do is hold A or D and almost spin in place. I wonder if people ever came across this technique with the current controls.
Nice game, I like the variety of shapes and their different behaviours, the controls aren't the best but after one run I got used to them. Also I wanted to report that on level 3 at a certain point I stopped hearing the shooting sound, not all the audio, only the shooting.
What controls would you recommend? Would you recommend WASD, even if the tank can only turn left or right? Thanks for the bug report. I haven't come across that one yet, nor did anyone else report it.
Yes, I think WASD would be more intuitive since there's no big visual way to tell you which way the tank is facing
Reminds me of the arcade game in stardew valley (Don't know if you are familiar with it lol), i like this! The game has some unnatural controls, maybe just wasd would've been better, but overall it's a goood entry, like the powerups and the mechanic, good job!
I believe the arcade game from Stardew Valley was inspired by a real arcade game from way back called Smash TV, which in turn is actually the game I took some inspiration from. ;) I wanted to add some voice lines, just like Smash TV had (they had some memorable lines! "Big money! Big prizes! I love it!"), but unfortunately, it wasn't a high enough priority to make it into the product before the deadline.
Yeah i probably just said a "spiderman the one from Fortnite" thing, forget me AHHAHA
Overall, the idea is cool, but I think there's not enough feedback when you hit the boss. He has a lot of health, and it's unclear how much is left.
The music appears in random places.
At first, the controls are very strange, but then I got used to them and it was fine.
I also feel that the first level is the most difficult, and then the levels gradually become easier.
Thanks for playing. The boss definitely needs a health bar and audible feedback on hits. The levels need balancing for sure. The boss music was set to show up right before the boss spawns, but last minute timing issues pushed that off. Fortunately, all these things can be fixed rather easily after the game jam is over.
