How does your game fit the theme?
Well, I used all the letters :P.
My game theme is a play on words on the theme. Instead of Just Get Started, my game is called Just Get Star Ted.

Quick and simple game. I love that he actively runs from you lol. Good job (✿◠ᴗ◠)
so cool
I really love the play on words, I have seen manyy of them but not this one yet haha. It's funny initially I was actually thinking of making a stealth game called just get ted which was your dog. The graphics are really nice, Ted is one slippery guy but I think you could expand on the concept with different settings and stuff. It was really fun chasing him down but I'm just sad there was only one level haha. It's very well polished though, great job
Cool wheres waldo game. Got potential to have infinite replayability if the map is randomly generated each time. Game needs more of a challenge tho, maybe a countdown timer, or other ai trying to hunt down Ted. Neat game!
I may have zapped the wrong person too many times :). Fun game, quite easy to zap Ted, so I suggest making Ted a bit smarter. Otherwise, great job! The level design is cool.
Zapped ted, with one misfire left! Nice play on words for the title. I would be excited to see what happens with Ted once you get him back to the movie set!
The game looks nice and it was interesting to play. It is a bit too easy to catch Ted and maybe some difficulty would help.
It' really fun what you did with the words. The controls were a bit difficult for me as I play on a trackpad, but I managed to get Ted. Great work!
Thanks! And yeah, I can imagine the game being much harder on the track pad! But nice work catching Ted!
Pretty short but also polished game. Everything fits, the sounds are great, VFX is amazing and everything feels really alive, well done!
I was able to play through your game within like 30 seconds I think though :D I wish there was more like more maps, or some way for Ted to be able to stun the player by triggering traps or something. Very cool game though!
Thank you for playing and the kind words! Yeah the game is definitely very short if you get the controls quickly...but getting Ted's state machine working mostly right was a big pain so I didn't have the time to even think about making the game a reasonable length :P
Genuinely really fun to blast people with the zap gun, felt really satisfying. I wish there was an option to just be able to spam the zap blaster and get as many people as you could under a minute or something. Graphics were really cool and once I got a hold of the controls it was fun to move around and look for ted. Cool stuff!
Thanks! Yeah I think a game of zapping as many people as you can would definitely be more fun! But then it wouldn't fit the theme anymore.
Maybe after the jam I'll add a serial zapper mode or something :)
Quite a fun little experience.
There was a lot going on there for sure, it reminds me of our neighborhood when there's a free to sample cake stall on someone's street.
Clever pun with the name as well, I love stuff like that.
Thanks a lot! The idea was for the NPCs to get in the way to make the shots more difficult to line up...so maybe even more would have been nice. But my computer was already chugging running all those guys in the editor.
Fun game and I love the play on words, Ted was pretty fast but still managed to catch him
The visual of the game is nice, and I like the all effects, movement, sounds of the game.
Like other said, the controls are a bit weird. Also personally I found the stealth "state" of the game is not clearly communicated either. I don't know how much Ted can see. I also didn't know what exactly I was looking when the game started, until I wander around a bit and saw him. The choice of zooming the camera in when you scroll the mouse wheel down is also opposite to the common way.
Yeah it was kinda hard to communicate the stealth state. What is too much info and what is too little?
I develop on a mac and I guess the magic mouse scroll is backwards 😅
Thanks for the feedback! Will definitely help with the next jam 😁
Yes it is true it's not as easy as we take it for granted. I am a big fan of the stealth genre and I found that for AAA games they use all sort of tricks like explicit audio cues and voice lines. They often also use things like progressive state, which means it's not just seen or unseen, but a state of gradually being seen more and more until you are discovered.
For indie and smaller stealth titles, I often see these information being surfaced more explicitly, like visible vision cone, like in Monaco or Mark of the Ninja.
This one was a lot of fun! It was really cool how complex the scene felt with everyone moving around doing their own thing.
Thank you so much! I spent way more time than I should have getting the NPCs moving around :P
Nice take on the theme hahaha
Great to see some more Ted-likes in the jam. It's like where's Waldo, but you know... Instead of Waldo, it's...
Ted
Agrreing with everything the other commenter said, really creative work though I really struggled a bit with the controls. A game idea which you do not see often, great work overall. Also loved the graphics and how the game looked.
Thanks! I often struggle getting the controls right 😅 Something to focus on for the next jam.
Really creative play on the words, I feel like you should have went with arrow keys for movement, but other than that I enjoyed the game :)
Thanks for playing! Yeah I was going back and forth with what control scheme to use and settled on moving with the mouse.
