Thank you! That’s really good to know since I also tried it on my phone and it wasn’t as good an experience as on PC, but I’m glad you were still able to enjoy the game!

That was a nice translation game. I quite enjoyed it! The UI experience was also really nice. I liked it that you can click on any word and it directly jumps to the dictionary.
Here’s some things I thought could be improved however:
- The initial learning curve was a bit high
- The final murder mystery part kinda feel too easy compared to the rest of the translation mechanics(?) Perhaps not entirely a bad thing though.
- Technically it was not impossible to brute force some of the puzzles, including the final question
- Didn’t have audio
Also technically not a feedback on the game itself, but I probably would have made the game name in English instead of the alien language. It makes it easier for SEO and discoverability, to share with friends and talk about instead of a string of random words haha.
Overall an enjoyable experience!
Thank you for your comment! It’s actually a very interesting play pattern you described that we didn’t think about. Since we are talking about it though, I think it would have made sense to do something like pixelating the writing on the notice board to force players to actually investigate the individual items. It’s a common technique designers would use to guide the players to where they want them to go next. I will remember to do it for my future games!
Thank you for the kind comment.
To answer your question, I think it’s a combination of a few things: As you already saw in the game, some clues are just sort of “distraction lines” that doesn’t really help with the actual logic for solving the puzzle. However, as the version that you played was still the jam version that was made in 48 hours, dialogue content was written very quickly and some may not had gotten many passes so they may seem to make little sense, haha. But who knows, maybe we still left some mysteries in there for next part of the story wink
Please consider adding the game to your collection to get updates for the game development!
Good music and fun sound effects but really should come with a loud audio warning because the default settings in really loud.
The game is not too hard but the movement feels slow. The art is not bad but a lot of the time it’s really hard to read, you can’t easily differentiate the background from the characters. There’s a bug where I died as the slime and didn’t respawn as a ghost, so I couldn’t continue playing.
Nice little game. I didn’t quite understand the form changing mechanic, it seems to be triggered from some flask combinations?
It was laggy when first loaded on web.
I would also consider taking out the trees in the middle. Sometimes a ghost will spawn behind the trees and you can’t see it coming so you can lose the game pretty suddenly.
I’m kinda impressed that you were able to make a turn based system for such a short jam. It’s kinda weird/creepy that you can attack yourself haha. I didn’t know what to do after the first battle so I just ended up killing myself by mistake lol.
The first story part didn’t quite make sense to me but it’s alright. I think the battle animations are definitely way too long though and I feel impatient waiting for them. Although the animations themselves are not bad.
I understand the purpose of the gameplay from the comments but it’s really difficult to control and the bug keeps changing the controls repeatedly, it’s super hard to complete the levels. Would love to see the idea again but not on a grid like this but more like free movement and the bug desire just slightly nudge the direction off-course a little and not changing the whole orientation repeatedly like this.
Nice little game. I tried to keep my breathing in sync with the game but sadly I couldn’t kept my focus. I was able to beat the game in just under 4 minutes though :D The last level just look completely different. I thought that was funny XD
The fact that you can switch the checkpoint on and off is a bit weird in my opinion but otherwise not a bad game.
The visual is really fun, good job! The overall audio experience is nice. I enjoy the first half of the sounds. But the second half doesn’t feel as good, it seems a bit chaotic.
I would suggest to add a background to the subtitle because there’s some part that couldn’t be read as it blends in with the art. Overall it’s not a bad experience. This bar would seem quite weird IRL though haha
The mechanics is probably my favorite so far among the “distracted multitasker” concepts I have played so far in this jam. Although sadly to say the game loses a bit on style, I do think it has a certain charm. I really like that there was an interactive tutorial. There’s also a How to Play, I found having both was funny. The fact that you said some trivia questions pull live from Wikipedia was interesting, I wonder if you can purposefully change some of them there and make it so that it’s a wrong answer? XD
Interesting mechanic. At first I didn’t quite understand the reason for the slow movement and long duration of it but I found it fun to preprogram the commands so it solve the puzzles correctly haha. I would suggest adding a “Confirm” or “Start Sequence” buttons so players can challenge themselves to plan out the whole thing before watching it play out haha.
