I love this game. I can see where the art is going very well with this. I love the incomplete look it feels like a very well thought out prototype. Well done.

I thought it was intentional but i saw the reply saying it was bc you didn't have time and had to use sketchs, but that's such a nice detail it became a really neat artstyle and it made the scene with the digital artstyle way more impactful so in the end I think the sketch artstyle improved a lot my experience with the game I really really liked. I'm still processing how this game made me feel idk if i could express ever that in a comment tho. It's really beautiful and the key arrow movements for certain scenes and also the typing made you feel more immersed in the character. Great game design, great art style even if unintentional. This was a great work.

Another visual game just like us. Very unique in terms of art style. The instructions were a bit unclear, luckily you had the answers I needed in your description, but I feel like that should be part of the game. The story was interesting and this game would be a really nice game once you've finished all the art assets. Great work on your first game jam!

Very creative game, I really enjoyed it a lot. The visuals and music are really good and unique. I enjoyed the narrative and the little bits of interaction - the poison/cooking stuff was cool, but I really enjoyed when typing tied into the narrative ("TELL HIM" and such), very cool idea.

I think the sketch artwork is fine, though I agree that keeping it consistent would be good. Maybe since you only had time to fully complete a few of them, those could have been in the "extras" section?  I'd be very interested to see where this game could evolve to if time constraints were no longer an issue. I think there is a lot of potential!

P.S., I seem to be in the minority, but it felt like the button prompts in the cutscenes were pretty intuitive, I never had a moment where I was stuck or anything, though I did skim the description first (which maybe you have updated recently)

Thats the most unique way for Visuals in this jam , everything is hand drawn and animated,  the narrative is nice , just wish it was a bit longer.

Interesting experience, I was captured by the hand-drawn collage visuals. The minigames were also quite satisfying if a bit short. The plot itself feels like a intimate part of a greater story, and it made me curious about the gameworld.

Nice and short narrative! The typing minigame was real clever, and the arrow minigame is quite nice. If the placeholder assets get replaced, this could be a really good game. Real proud that you still decided to post this despite not being able to finish the art.(i know i wouldnt, too much of a wuss hahah). Great job!

Sad (though nicely done) story. The use of arrows and typing was creative, though, like others said, it could use some clearity. Well done!

While not much fun, man, was that amazing creativity. I liked the almost puppet look of using the sketches then moving them around. Great work!

Congratulation on your first jam submission!

Very neat story game i played -
like others mentioned, the call to actions with the arrows took a bit to understand, i almost closed the game because i thought it crashed and wanted to restart.
Also i'd suggest keeping to one art style, either pencil drawn or pc drawn, either is fine although i liked the pc-drawn visuals, such as the dialog portraits better.

Good job on finishing and good luck on the ratings!

Thanks for the comment! I would have kept to digital but didn't have time to translate all the sketches, and I'm definitely adding more instructions to the description and a proper tutorial in future. :)

Once I understood that you have to press the buttons on screen it made the game so much more immersive. From a point and click, to you feeling like you were actually there in that moment. Typing out those feelings. Experiencing those moments. I'd love to see this when fully completed but having to do that much art from scratch and still being active on the Shovel discord, it's amazing you were able to do this much. Stand proud!

Feedback wise: Would like more sound effects, complete visuals, some prompt or info notifying to press the keyboard arrow keys and the other text, and more context!

Well done on the visuals, though I agree with the other commenter, some scenes were very hard to tell what was going on, and without having read it, I would not have known to press inputs on most of the screens, the prompt could be a bit more clear.

Really cool concept, the SFX could be better because there is not much audio, the style with the paper cutouts is really cool, but it isnt clear what the characters are doing in some shots, but I really like the mechanic of typing the words and pressing the directions to do stuff
